Share Your Battle Challenge : Pelacor Arbalest | He's Deadly With His Two Arbalest.

in Splinterlands2 years ago (edited)

Hey there my good friends of Splinterlands,
How are ya'll doing today? I hope you're in a good mood and in good health.

There is a lot going on in Splinterlands nowadays that one can digest. But the best part is the economy is going in the right direction.
Splinterlands DAO is getting richer every day and with the efficient token burning strategy, the price of the tokens is on the steady rise (sometimes in dip).
I really like the way the Splinterlands team is working to open a new horizon in play2earn.

Playing battles in Splinterlands is a roller-coaster ride nowadays. Some days you're in luck and earn a good amount of chest and sometimes you only earn a small amount of chest because of certain defeats.
Then, again, the rewards from these chests are so uncertain. Sometimes you get less valuable rewards from a large number of chests and sometimes you get these rewards from a smaller number of chests -

Yep, a CL pack... Next good thing after a legendary card.
The day turned lucky for me.

Anyway, today is the last day of submitting 'Splinterlands Share Your Battle Challenge' featuring PELACOR ARBALEST.

Share Battle Pelacor.png

Just like the previous challenges, I'll share my best battle of this week using the Pelacor Arbalest in my team.
I'll also share my strategy, team combination, and thoughts about the Pelacor Arbalest.

So, read on...

THE LORE

The Silver Shield Knight backpedaled, parrying blow after blow as the two Venari snarled and swung their swords at him in a savage and ruthless onslaught. He stumbled. Another blow sent him reeling. He fell onto his back.

The Venari leaped upon him, swords raised. He struggled to lift his own sword, but he couldn't fight them both. He was going to die.

The feathered shaft of a bolt slammed into the center of each Venaris' chest simultaneously. The pair crumpled in a heap, unseeing eyes staring at the sky.

The Silver Shield Knight squinted into the sun. Above him, a Pelacor Arbalest hovered, his large white wings beating in the air. In each hand, he held an empty crossbow, still aimed at the fallen Venari.

BATTLE STATS AND ABILITIES OF THE PELACOR ARBALEST

Before I share my strategy and the battle, let's talk about the stats and abilities of this card.

Pelacor Arbalest Stats.png

The Pelacor Arbalest is a Rare Life unit card from the Chaos Legion edition.
This ranged attack card costs 6 mana to use in the battle which makes this card a mid-mana-cost card.
Talking about the abilities, this monster has the 'double strike' ability starting from level 1. With this ability, this monster attacks twice each round on the target monster/s.
When it reaches level 5, the 'flying' ability is unlocked. With this ability, has an increased chance of evading melee or ranged attacks from the monsters who do not have the flying ability.
Stats of this card also increases through levels, from 2 ranged attacks, 2 speeds, and, 2 health in level 1, to 2 ranged attack, 3 speeds, and 4 health in level 4.
At the highest level 8, the stats of this card are 3 ranged attacks, 3 speeds, and, 5 health.

What Is The Best Ruleset And Summoner To Use Pelacor Arbalest ?

As the Pelacor Arbalest is a ranged attack monster, therefore, it can be used in any battle except the battles with the 'broken arrow' ruleset.
This card has a high attack point but is low in health. That's why one should put it in the very last position protecting it from sneak attacks.
For this reason, the 'fog of war' ruleset is also a good choice to use it.
Another ruleset that is perfect to use this card is the 'close range' ruleset, where it can attack from the first position. But then again, it should be protected from the sneak and opportunity monsters.
But in the 'unprotected' ruleset this monster can be lethal for the enemy team, in which no monster can have the armor benefit.
Talking about the summoner, General Sloan is just the perfect summoner to combine this card with.
With his +1 ranged attack buff, General Sloan increases the overall attack power of this card.
Apart from that, the Selenia Sky and the Archmage Arius from the dragon splinter can be also used with this card effectively.

My preferred way to use this card is

Using General Sloan as the summoner, then using the Shieldbearer as the tank card, and using at least two tank heal cards the Divine Healer and the Venari Crystalsmith.
Then use any filler card/s.
In the last position placing the Pelacor Arbalest and a perfect team of melee, ranged, and magic attacks are ready.

My Strategy and Team Setup

As one of the rulesets was 'fog of war', I decided to use the Pelacor Arbalest as my main attacking card.
Just as I wrote above, I used the Shieldbearer as the tank card, the Uriel The Purifier as the second attacking card, the Time Maze to reduce the shield of the enemy team as well as slow them down, the Creeping Ooze to make the slow further, the Pelacor Arbalest as the main attacking card, and, the Supply Runner to make my team faster.
So, this was my team -

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

My strategy worked perfectly in this battle.
Using the Lorna Shine as the summoner was the best idea as my monsters ignored the first attack which was great.
Then the Shieldbearer soaked all the damages done bt the enemy monsters until it dies.
The Time Maze slowed the enemy team and reduced there armor and made then vulnerable to attack.
Finally, the Pelacor Arbalest did the great job and played his role very efficiently as the main attacker.
Due to this super strategic team, I tasted win.

A Few Words On The Pelacor Arbalest

The Pelacor Arbalest can be a game changer in certain conditions.
With 6 mana costs, this card can be used in almost all mid-to-high mana cap battles.
Combined with the summoner General Sloan and this card can be devastating for the enemy team.
The only thing that is not adequate is the health of this card. As we can see this monster's health point is not that great.
Therefore, one should always protect this card from sneak and opportunity monsters.
For me, I'm a magic attack lover, and the ranged attack is my least choice attack. But whenever I play ranged attack, the Pelacor Arbalest will always be in my team.
