What you say makes sense, and I can see the benefit of having alternative summoners for each splinter firsthand myself. But anyone who does that also needs cards to play properly for each summoner, otherwise, a summoner might not be effective.

I think that this strategy requires a learning curve to know how to play summoners we are not familiar with. I tried it out and the results were mixed simply because I lacked experience for some summoners. The combinations between summoners and certain cards can be very interesting in some ruleset. If you rent for example Chanseus the great with life, it can have amazing synergies with some of the cards but it needs time to figure them out :-)
