Okay, so the most exciting thing that has happened this week is that the Promo Sale of the 2 Bitcoin Halving Promo cards went live yesterday. Before having a look at how the event is going right now let's have a look at the two cards and the way you can obtain them.
The first card is Baron Fyatt. I bet it him sounding so much like "fiat" is just a mere coincidence and it is not intended at all... Baron Fyatt costs 31,250 (31.25k) DEC/Credits, and you can take 50% of the price off using vouchers, valued at $0.05 per voucher, so not that far off from their current price of about $0.04. He's a Legendary so you have to buy 11 BCX of him to max him out
As you can see the Baron has the symbolic "Halving" ability just like the Halving Alchemist which was the promo card for the previous Halving event 4 years go, and Arkemis the Bear, who has Halving because.. he's a bit salty I guess. Anyhow, the is also a dual-element card so he can be used by Fire and Death. Fully maxed out he has 2 Magic Attack, 2 Speed and 6 Health, as well as the following abilities - Halving, Scatter Shot, Ambush and Blind. I can't say he's "Op" and a must-have but he is pretty interesting in general. I got to try him out on the Mav Server over the weekend and that made me absolutely confident that I would buy him and that was what happened.
The second card is Henchling Enforcer. Henchling Enforcer costs 3,125 (3.125k) DEC/Credits for a single (1 BCX) card. He's a rare so you will have to buy 115 BCX of him if you want to have him maxed out at level 8. Again, you can use vouchers to reduce the DEC/Credits amount you pay. The Enforcer again has Halving as his signature ability and is Dual-Element - Water and Life. Maxed out at level 8 he has Halving, True Strike and Camouflage. I am not really that excited about him. Especially having in mind the fact that he costs about $300 without a voucher discount, just as much as the Baron. I bought 40 copies of him but I can only max 1 of the cards at the even prices. So speaking of the prices, I really think the team could have priced them according to the current community sentiment and I am sure they would sell a lot more copies. Maybe selling more copies at lower prices is not what they are after. I don't know.. By the way, there will also be prizes involved for the people participating in the event, so you can check out the whole information in the screenshot below, which I have taken from the official PeakD article. Now let's see how the even is going:
The way it is structed is that if players want to earn the maximum amount of points which translate into Prize Chance, they'd better act on the first day, or at least no later than the first few days, since the Bonus Point Multiplier decreases every 24 hours. As you can see on the screenshot above, it has already decreased from 3.00x to 2.86x, that's why a lot of the big buys went through during the first day. I spent about 510,000 DEC on the cards and got 1,532,850 Bonus points which translate into 153 chances to get a reward. It would be great if I manage to get some sort of a reward but I am in it for the title. I've already been thrown out of the top 60 for the Epic one but I think my current place of 81st will manage to keep me in the top 200 in the next 13 days.
As you most probably know the team asked for $200,000 from the DAO to sponsor the Event so all tokens could be burned but that got turned down by the DAO, however, what that gave us was the expectation that the team would earn at least $200K during this promo sale. Well only after one day they have managed to accumulate 160,000,000 DEC, which is about $140,000. That's not bad at all actually and even though the sales will slow down, the team might be able to hit their target by the time the even ends.
Let's have a look at the aftermarket for the cards and what's going on there. What's happening is that a lot of people had a lot of vouchers stuffed in their pillows and mattresses so I think they basically value them at a lot lower price than the are at the market (or even 0) since, as you can see they are gladly willing to let go of the regular foils of the Enforcer and the Baron at less than half the price. That's great for people who are not interested in getting a title or participating in the raffle. Actually if I knew they would be going for that low (and I should have known... cause.. flipping to get more points has always been a thing), I would have just bought them off the market and be left with a good chunk of DEC but it is what it is... Hey, I might win a Runi.. who knows... Knowing my luck that will probably not be the case but we'll see in two weeks.
Despite the doom and gloom we've had in the community recently it is obvious that there are still quite a few people who are willing to support financially the company and still trust Matt's vision and that we can turn this ship around and restore the people's faith in the project. Such things cannot happen overnight. That's why the community need to be patient, and those who cannot wait, well, it's better to leave the project or at least stop worrying about it every day than constantly badmouth it on all social media channels.
