Getting to Silver

in Splinterlands5 years ago

I've been seeing a lot of people complaining, and always so flustered as to how and why they can't seem to move on to silver from bronze.

Well, this post might help you save your sanity.

First of all, the only card game I ever experienced playing was when I was a teeny weeny little pubescent boy. So, back to the main topic and why I'm writing this.

I first off started doing practice matches maybe around 5 - 10 to make sure before I make the decision to buy the spellbook, I'd know if I really have the feel for the game and if I know I'm going to invest on it.

I recommend starting off with basic line-ups like Fire, Earth, and Life for example. I put on a good $50 just to start, so I have enough money to rent out other cards when it's needed; and it really is. You can't go up the ladder if you never ever give them your money.

So, for the basic lineups that might actually help you get out of the Bronze League are:

For Fire, I went from using Pyre and Malric.

Although the games are dependent with whatever the limits are given, these are just examples on how you can win that table with a straight up poker face and a beating heart. So, back to the main point again. For curating a team, you should always consider having sneak to mess with the backline, opportunity so you don't have an idle monster. Malric has a melee buff so having Magnar receiving all that damage makes a huge difference in your rank game. Pyre is technically the same, I would recommend pyre for low energy games.

For Life, I got Kiara to maximize my energy with the cards. 2 energy for a summoner isn't bad, aye?

Life is simple, you focus on your front-line, and your damage dealer. I recommend getting Shieldbearer as your Tank, then get Mother Kala for heal/sustain, Armorsmith for armor/sustain, then have a decent sniper like Peacebringer, or the Neutrals that come for free.

For Earth, you can always use Mylor.

Mylor has a passive called Thorns and whenever a melee monster attacks you, it reflects a good mcnugget damage of 2. IMAGINE THE HORROR, although this line up can easily be countered with magic or archers so it's up to you to always make it a habit to look at your enemies' previous lineups so you don't fall into their greasy sweaty palms. For the lineup, I recommend having the Mustang or any 7+ energy monster. They're all monsters combined with thorns, really.

That's how I became Silver 3 in a day, also, don't forget that your POWER is affected by the cards you own or the cards you've rented. Hope this helped you, peace!

P.S
I'm fairly new to the game and what I went through the ranks might not be the same as yours but don't fret, the game's an adventure you'll grow to love as long as you're not a sore loser. ;P
