Fortunately, we still have plenty of time to remove Djinn Oshannus from the Modern collection. He's still the best on the front line against mages. This one might be interesting, but nothing beats Phase with Djinn's high speed

I agree. Phase gives Oshannus more chances of not getting hit hence staying longer. I wonder if there will be a more versatile replacement in the coming Conclave Arcana. Can't wait :-)
