The biggest difference for me was the new ranking system, which simply solved the problems and frustrations I used to face when trying to move up in leagues. Before, it was a real challenge, and I often found myself stuck in a loop of wins and losses. The biggest frustration was missing just a few victory points to rank up, only to end up with fewer points compared to the loss, not really understanding how it impacted my progress. But now, with a fixed points system for gains and losses, everything became clearer and fairer.
Before, I felt like I was in limbo, where one defeat could undo all my dedication and effort, as mentioned above. It was frustrating, to say the least. But this new approach brought stability and predictability to the ranking system, making the experience much more rewarding. Now, gaining or losing 20 fixed points, with the exception that after a few consecutive wins, I can get 40 points instead of just 20.
For me, this means the game has become more exciting and challenging at the same time. It's not just about winning a match anymore; it's about building a solid strategy and maintaining momentum over several battles. This change has brought a new dynamic to Splinterlands, and I'm loving every second of it.
💠 Market in motion?
Besides the direct impact on my gaming experience, I can't help but mention how these updates can have a significant impact on the card market. With the need to enhance and strengthen my monsters to compete at a higher level, I see a growing demand for more powerful cards and advanced strategies. This creates a more dynamic environment in the card market, with players constantly seeking to improve their collections to stand out.
This, in turn, can boost the value of rarer and more powerful cards, creating opportunities for exciting trades and transactions in the virtual world of Splinterlands. Currently, I'm selling some previously obtained Chaos Legion packs; I plan to start acquiring monsters, at a minimum, with their second ability unlocked (or third, depending on the monster).
It's amazing to think how these updates have not only transformed the individual gaming experience but also shaped the competitive and economic landscape of Splinterlands as a whole. We're witnessing the evolution of a game that goes beyond simple card matches and becomes a vibrant and constantly growing ecosystem.
