Very informative post about guilds. I think one of the most valuable resource of a guild is not what you can see or the tangible benefits, but the education and knowledge share you have within such communities.
Thanks to my guild and overall the community at large it ignited a deeper level of interest for me and has shaved off months if not years off my learning curve for this game.
