A Noobs Tale in Splinterlands Pt 4 Card Power and Ranks

**In this series I am going to talk about my journey in Splinterlands.I am a brand new player. One that has no history with this game and extremely limited experience with block chain games in general. Today I"m going to talk a little bit about Card Power and how I understand it. BTW It still confuses me quite a bit.

CARD POWER AND THE DEC BURN CHART:

Lets start by talking about this chart below. It's extremely important when you are talking about ranking up into new leagues and also joining tournaments.

Every card has a burn value that will turn it back into DEC. In this game there was a time when you could pick up cards on market for less than their burn value and burn them. Those days are long gone. @almightymelon

Yes DEC is being notated in your account twice. Something as a coin and something that is part of this burn chart...yes it's very confusing especially to the new player. When it comes to Card Power it's the same thing as DEC Burn rates...I guess.

The top part of this chart shows you how much each card is worth as just a standard card. The amount of stars/levels on the card also effect the amount of CP it's worth.

So if you have a 1 star legendary regular card it's pretty easy to calculate based off the set the card is from. Please note that the latest set obviously has the most cards so those cards are worth the smallest amount.

A good way to increase your CP that I have found is to buy the cheapest gold foil cards on the market. I find myself looking for cheap gold foils all the time to increase the CP of my collection usually under a dollar.

Lets talk about what you can do once you own the card as well. This DOES NOT work when looking at the market...you must own the card itself for this to work. BTW @splinterlands it would be amazing if we could see the DEC as part of the market especially if we are trying to hit a certain card power. Or maybe just change the name to CP for those of us that haven't been around for a long time. It's crazy confusing.

This first screen shows you how many cards it takes to combine cards to reach a certain level. The chart above shows that common gold foils are worth 500 points each.

This second chart shows how much DEC (or card power) you get once fused to 4 star. Since we know it takes 2 cards to fuse to 4 star it's 500+500 = 1000.

Card Power Per Rank:

Now lets look at the chart that shows how much Card Power you need for each rank. The first thing you will do is click on the leagues button. You can see I"m in Silver 3. I plan on sitting in silver for quite a while so that I can save enough cash to start playing in gold.

I don't mind telling you I have Spent right around $150 to get to this level of Card Power. This has been to fill out my green and red decks to be as competitive as possible and I still loose a lot.

Novice is where we all start, you will notice there are no season rewards and the season resets itself every 2 weeks.

After Novice you reach bronze. Prizes start getting a little bit better. It also states what the limits of the card levels are. You can see the CP rating required and also the rewards you get at the end of the season. So Bronze 2 is 1000+ CP and Bronze 1 is 5000+ CP etc etc.

The prizes start to get insane the further up you go...but that also suggests that you have obtained more cards and paid more into the game or know some good people that would loan you their cards.

After Bronze is Silver...which is where I will definitely be sitting for a while. I feel like if I want to get into the gold levels I am going to have to figure out how to rent cards. Because the cost is just exponentially higher.

There are a TON of factors that go into how much DEC (coin) you win per round.
Win streaks, league, ECR %, cards used (golds, alphas or promos) all factor into how much you end up getting, also the size of the reward pool. @grapthar

BE AWARE Each rank gets exponentially harder and if you don't have the right collection at your fingertips you will loose more than you win and it won't be worth it. So if you jam a ton of gold cards in that are just random to simply raise your CP...you won't make much DEC at all.

Even though confusing at times, the community once again are really the stars of the show here. There hasn't been a single person (including some of the top players) that haven't been willing to walk me through this. @fight4freedom @clove71 and a ton of other players have been incredibly patient and kind through all of this and that makes me want to be a part of this incredible community even more!
