Las cartas de “Gladiador” son consideradas desde hace mucho tiempo como las mas poderosas de todo el ecosistema de “Splinterlands” y aunque ya tienen bastante tiempo de haber salido, en batalla son temerarias, pueden arrasar con un equipo entero por si solas, y no estoy bromeando, solo debes ser estratégico con la combinación que uses y lo mas importante saber posicionar a estas cartas de “Gladiador” donde puedas aprovechar todo su potencial de batalla.

Pero ¿A que se debe realmente el gran poder de estas cartas, porque son tan dominantes incluso después de varios años, donde han nacido cartas de SETS increíblemente buenos que justo en la actualidad están dominando el “Metajuego”? Pues te lo explicare en este post, ademas de muchos detalles detrás de este set de cartas tan enigmático, como conseguirlas, que hacen etc.

Si eres nuevo y no sabes nada sobre las cartas de “Gladiador”, debes leer este post hasta el final, seguramente obtendrás información muy útil y terminaras por buscar un gremio, unirte y coleccionar estas cartas, porque de verdad después de varios años, siguen siendo muy fuertes.

Analisis profundo de las cartas de “Gladiador”

Las cartas de “Gladiador” representan una clase de guerreros de elite diseñados para desmantelar combinaciones estratégicas enemigas, si bien, puede que en la actualidad se puedan contrarrestar de forma mucho mas sencilla que en el pasado, cabe destacar que siguen siendo un conjunto de cartas bastante fuertes, especialmente si sabemos como posicionarlas en el campo, aprovechar su habilidad insignia y aquellas habilidades sinérgicas que puedan aumentar el daño exponencial que pueden causar.

Pero, sabiendo esto ¿Qué es lo que hace que estas cartas sean temidas en el campo de batalla? Porque incluso los jugadores experimentados, tienen ciertos problemas para contrarrestar su poderosa habilidad, de hecho, pocas son las combinaciones que pueden hacerles frente cuando ya las rondas de la batalla están muy avanzadas, así que, exploremos de donde viene el poder de este poderoso SET:

La habilidad definitiva “Bloodlust”

La característica que define a todas y cada una de las 32 cartas de Gladiador es la habilidad Bloodlust. Su mecánica es tan simple como devastadora: cada vez que un Gladiador derrota a un oponente, "obtiene +1 a todas sus estadísticas que, por supuesto no empiezan desde cero, por lo que, mientras mas rondas dure una carta con la habilidad “Bloodlust” en el campo, mas fuerte se vuelve, lo que las convierte en unidades muy difíciles de derrotar.

Estratégicamente, esta habilidad transforma a una unidad en una amenaza creciente y exponencial. Un Gladiador que asegura una eliminación temprana puede desequilibrar por completo el enfrentamiento, convirtiéndose en una fuerza imparable a medida que avanza la batalla. Es importante destacar que esta habilidad se activa incluso con eliminaciones pasivas, como las causadas por el daño de retorno de habilidades como Thorns, Return Fire o Magic Reflect, lo que amplía significativamente sus oportunidades de activación.

Su debilidad: Como toda habilidad, este tiene una forma de contrarrestarla y que nació mucho tiempo después de si nacimiento, ya que la habilidad existía, pero la adecuaron para contrarrestar los efectos de “Bloodlust”, esta habilidad tiene por nombre “Dispel”, por lo que, no son invencibles, por lo que, estas pueden tener un freno y si el oponente sabe jugar bien su “Defensa”.

La combinación del set de reglas Are You Not Entertained? y un invocador con Conscript permite el despliegue máximo de hasta 2 Gladiadores en una sola batalla, lo que es una locura, ya que tener 2 cartas con “Bloodlust”, podría ser una ventaja considerable, por supuesto dependiendo del contexto de la batalla, las reglas y como planteemos la estrategia.

Mecanismo de Adquisición

La obtención de Gladiadores es un proceso exclusivo para miembros de gremios. Los jugadores deben participar en Brawls o abrir cofres de botín para ganar Merits, la moneda necesaria para comprar Gladius Cases. Cada caja, que contiene 5 cartas de Gladiador aleatorias, tiene un costo de 2.000 Merits y solo puede ser adquirida en una Tienda de Gremio (Guild Store) de nivel 2 o superior.

In fact, there are few combinations that can stand up to them when the battle rounds are well underway. So, let's explore where the power of this powerful SET comes from:

The ultimate skill "Bloodlust"

The defining feature of each and every one of the 32 Gladiator cards is the Bloodlust ability. Its mechanics are as simple as they are devastating: every time a Gladiator defeats an opponent, it gains +1 to all its stats, which of course do not start from zero. Therefore, the longer a card with the Bloodlust ability remains in play, the stronger it becomes, making these units very difficult to defeat.

Strategically, this ability transforms a unit into a growing and exponential threat. A Gladiator who secures an early kill can completely unbalance the confrontation, becoming an unstoppable force as the battle progresses. It is important to note that this ability is triggered even by passive eliminations, such as those caused by the return damage of abilities like Thorns, Return Fire, or Magic Reflect, significantly expanding its activation opportunities.

Its weakness: Like any skill, this one has a way to counteract it, which was developed long after its creation, since the skill already existed, but it was adapted to counteract the effects of "Bloodlust." This skill is called "Dispel," so they are not invincible, and they can be stopped if the opponent knows how to play their "Defense" well.

Strategic Features and Restrictions

Gladiators are subject to a unique set of rules that condition their use on the battlefield, adding an extra layer of strategic planning for players who want to use these types of cards in their strategies. Below, I will explain all these details, which are very important if you want to delve into the realm of the fabulous and powerful "Gladiators."

SoulBound: These cards are linked to the account that obtains them, which is generally referred to as SoulBound, meaning they cannot be transferred, rented, sold, or delegated. This feature directly impacts the acquisition strategy, as the power of a Gladiator is a permanent and personal asset that reflects the player's progress and dedication within their guild, since they were originally created only for this game mode, which was later expanded to the rest.

Limitation of Use: As a general rule, only one Gladiator per team can be used in each battle. However, there are exceptions that allow this limit to be exceeded, as follows:

The Are You Not Entertained? rule set allows you to use an additional Gladiator card.

A Summoner/Archon with the Conscript ability allows you to use an additional Gladiator card (Chaos Legion Reward Archons).

The combination of the Are You Not Entertained? rule set and a summoner with Conscript allows for the maximum deployment of up to 2 Gladiators in a single battle, which is crazy, since having 2 cards with "Bloodlust" could be a considerable advantage, depending, of course, on the context of the battle, the rules, and how we approach the strategy.

Acquisition Mechanism

Obtaining Gladiators is a process exclusive to guild members. Players must participate in Brawls or open loot chests to earn Merits, the currency needed to purchase Gladius Cases. Each case, which contains 5 random Gladiator cards, costs 2,000 Merits and can only be purchased at a Guild Store of level 2 or higher.
