Life sappers are in between life and death. One side of their body is ghostly while the other is alive and well. They are neither fully living nor dead. They feed off the energies around them, and simply being within view of a Life Sapper will make you feel sick and weak. They siphon energy from their victims, slowly weakening and sickening them while simultaneously healing themselves.
“Paladins, clerics, and healers of the world don't bother trying to save a Life Sapper as it may be the last thing you'll do. Hold dear to your worldly bodies and pray to whichever gods you know that you do not become lost in the in-between.”
The Death race is always my favorite in any games as long as they provide enough power. Splinterlands is no exception under my rule and in this game the Death Splinter is pretty strong and versatile. They have the answer to every kind of threat if you can predict what your opponent will bring into the battle. 💪
This is the only race in Splinterlands where you have multiple options to reduce your opponent attack damage and giving you the upper hand, which is:
- Demoralise: Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters ⚔️
- Headwinds: Reduces the Ranged attack of all enemy Monsters. 🏹
- Silence : Reduces the Magic Attack of all enemy Monsters. 🔮
The Life Sapper is an interesting creature and he reminds me of the old school Vampires, because of his Life Leech ability, which is increases the Monster's health each time it damages an enemy Monster's health in proportion to the damage dealt. 🤗
This ability is amazing, because it allows the Life Sapper to stay in battle for a longer period of time and continually damaging the enemy monsters.
The bad news is that he doesn't have too much damage even if you level him up he will reach a maximum Magic 🔮 damage of 2.
Another interesting ability he will receive on his maximum level of eight, which is Redemption. This ability will means that if this Monster dies, it does 1 damage to all enemy monsters. This is amazing as long as you can afford to get a maxed Summoner as well! 😊

Hint for Heavy Hitters: Use a monster with Stun ability. There is a 50% chance that your monster with Stun will be able to stun enemy monsters, but if successful, all your monsters will deal double damage to that stunned opponent.
Camila Sungazer
I brought Camila Sungazer, because I though my opponent will bring Lorna with Melee ⚔️ attack creatures, but my prediction proved wrong. I would have been much better using Quix, because General Sloan and his archer team are very strong and popular these days.
The only advantage of Camila over Quix is that she cost only 3 mana, so I could use one mana for creatures. 😇
Harklaw
The Harklaw is one of the best main tank in the whole Splinterlands. He is rock solid and on Level 3 he has a lot of excellent abilities, such as Demoralize (*Reducing enemy melee attack by one), Shield (reducing melee and ranged attack damages) and Immunity. (Which makes this monster immune to negative status effects.)
He is always my first pick without thinking as a tank with Death Splinter. 💪
Twilight Basilisk
Usually I use the Twilight Basilisk, because he has the Reach ability, which allows him to attack from the second position, but more importantly he has Stun as well, so when he hit an enemy monster there will be 50% chance to stun that monster forcing it skip its own turn. 😁 The Basilisk cost only four mana, so he is an easy fit into any kind of team.
Life Sapper
The only reason I am playing this monster apart from his mana cost of 3 is the fact that he can use his Life Leech ability to increase his own Health ❤️ and in the mean time damaging my opponent monsters. It is a win-win situation for me. 😉
Venari Bonesmith
The Venari Bonesmith has the same Life Leech ability, which is amazing especially in low mana battles, but from Level 4 he receives the in(famous) Poison ability. This monster attacks have a chance to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied. (The Poison ability is triggered 50% of the time. Poison does damage at the end of the turn and is not affected by shield or void.)
These days it is very hard to build a team without this ability, because if the poison hits it is very difficult to remove especially from the backline. 😱
Naga Assassin
The Naga Assassin costs only 2 mana and I usually put herat the back of my team. The reason of that is not, because she is a ranger and need to be far away from the first position. The reason is that she got huge Speed of six and the ability of Backfire. (If an enemy misses this Monster with an attack, the attacker takes 2 damage.)
This ability and her Speed makes her the perfect dodger at the back of my team or at least as long they don't have a high Speed sneaker in their team. 😅
My opponent brought a pretty strong team with a Level 6 General Sloan, which gives +1 Ranged attack to all of his creatures. He also uses a Level 8 Supply Runner, which gives +1 Speed to all friendly creatures as well.
This team is hitting first and dealing a lot of Ranged damage on my monsters. Luckily the poison from the Venari Bonesmith killed their two tank after each other, so their damage dealers started to fell into the first position, which makes them unable to attack from there. ☠️
My opponent made a huge mistake bringing the Venari Crystalsmith as a healer, because the ruleset of Healed Out made him useless and rendered him to a simple damage dealer. 🤣
Even though I didn't have enough big damage dealers and my opponent had two tanks as well with Magic Reflect my two Life Leech monster could survive their own damage thanks to their ability and kill their enemies.
If I wouldn't use the Harklaw I would have easily losted this battle, but thanks to his Shield ability their Rangers couldn't damage enough to kill him as he mitigated lot of their damage. 🛡
The only variable how this battle would turn out differently was the trigger chance of my poison and the Scattershot ability of their Portal Spinner. Luckily the Portal Spinner's first attack hit the Armor of the Basilisk and his second killed him, leaving my damage dealer life leechers alive and thrive. 😁

Me too, recently I have a big problem with this 50% RNG in this game, no Stun, no Poison and I am missing a lot as well. Splinterlands should rework this mechanic to work a bit less RNG. 😏
