mind reverie (2).jpg

Hello Splinterlands fam!

Welcome to another fresh Splinterlands post guys and I hope all of you are doing well in life and enjoying the day with your loved ones. Now, talking about splinterlands players, congrats to all those actively played and survived the last ranked season and I guess all pf you have already claimed your season end glint rewards and started playing this the fresh one alreasy. If you are playing for a while, you know this is the every day life being a Splinterlands player, we complete our daily quests in ranked season, frontier and survival, actively participate in eligible tournaments and brawls and keep an eye if land plots and claim the harvest button within time. So, whether you ate preparing to climb the ladder of trophies and enter a certain league tier to claim some juicy reward chests, or to compete with the top players and book a chair in the top champion leaderboard and win big, I wish you all the best. Looking at the season clock timer, we have a long road to travel, as there’s still around 14 days left for this new ranked season to meet its end. So, try to push slowly from now and make sure to maintain your battle energy bar in a healthy way that you dint run out when it is needed the most.

Now, let’s take a look at the other mode of Splinterlands that people are talking much about lately, yes, I am pointing towards the newly launched Frontier mode. This new mode is free-to-play, where you require and can also earn foundation edition cards for playing this mode. The beauty of this mode is that you can start playing this mode completely for free, without the need of any cards or SPS. You can straight away start with the campaign mode and earn your first batch of foundation cards, and then you can use those cards to start playing the frontier mode and earn cards or packs depending on your current league level.

Now, talking about me, after the season reset in Frontier mode, I am currently playing at the highest league in Frontier mode, the Gold I league tier and with a trophy count of 2,680. For playing in Gold league, I am earning 1 Foundation pack and 3 Raffle entries for winning each of those daily missions. For on a bright day, I complete all 3 missions and get 3 packs and 9 entries or at least try to keep it at 2 packs and 6 entries per day. Today also, I have already claimed 2 missions and right now chasing for the last one, but sadly, I have overplayed and finished all my battle energies. I still need 2 more wins to claim the last reward and let’s see if I can manage to get those 2 victories within time. On the other hand, for my active playing since the last raffle draw, I have so far earned 39 raffle entries for the upcoming frontier raffle. But I don't expect them highly now, cause in spite of actively playing and collecting decent amount of entires in the past 11 raffles, I didn't get a single card yet. But right now I am focusing on upgrading my foundation collection to its max Archon level 4. So, I will be actively playing the frontier mode and collect as many foundation packs as possible to upgrade those cards quickly.

Talking about foundation cards, though they free to earn cards and if you are playing in Gold League like me, you are easily earning 10-15 foundation cards everyday from reward packs, some of these cards are very rare to get your hands upon. Even if you open hundreds of foundation packs, some cards will still choose not to appear and you will end up frustrated. Now, the same was happening to me, especially with the Water element cards. In spite of opening a ton of card draws and packs, I was lacking water cards a lot and while my other element cards already were reaching level 3 archon levels, my water archon and monster cards were only sitting at level 2 archon levels. Now, in the frontier mode, the water element cards every important if you want to stay competitive. The water archon’s +1 magic attack power works lime a charm and with multiple powerful magic monsters in water element, it becomes even more deadly. So, finally after waiting a while, I decided to buy the required foundation cards from the market to upgrade my whole water element cards to level 3 archon levels, which means common level 4, rare level 3, epic level 2 and legendary level 2 cards.

MARLAI SINGARIEL

For this whole purchase, I as usual chose the third party marketplace called monstermarket.io, because they give instant 60% of the fee as DEC cashback. Anyway, the first card that I selected in the kart was the Archon card, Marlai Singariel itself. At level 3, this archon card supports common level 4, rare level 3, epic level 2 and legendary level 2 cards. Now, in my collection, I had a level 2 and a single cc cards, so I required another 8 of them, which I bought for at 6 CC x 0.234$, 1 CC x 0.267$ and 1 CC x 0.294$. So, to buy all the required archon cards, I spent total 1.865$.

MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER

The first monster card that I was checking after buying the archon was the Legendary Mystic Scaleweaver, the legendary magic attack monster from the Water element. This is a pure beast with raw magic attack with high health and decent speed along with slow ability. This monster is very useful to be placed in medium to high mana limit matches, and upgrading this monster to it max level 2 gives it 3 magic attack power, which after getting the archon buff becomes 4. So, you can clearly see how deadly this card becomes at level 2 and I guess that’s why, this card is also pricy to buy. Now, I am having 2 x 1 CC of this card and needed another one to upgrade it to level 2. Thus I surfed and selected one lowest listed 1 x CC for a whopping 2.080$.

ASEL ALAGOSDIL

Next I reached for the Asel Alagosdil, the epic rarity no-attack tank card from water element that costs only 4 mana, so this monster will be useful against magic attacks for low to medium matches or the ones with little league ruleset. Now, I have 3 x level 1 of this card, so I needed only 1 more to upgrsde it to level 2. So I immediately selected the lowest one for 0.220$ and made the purchase.

WATER LOGGED WIZARD

The next card that I bought was the Water Logged Wizard and this is a rare type magic attack card that comes from the water element. This monster costs 6 mana and holds a decent attack, speed and health but using it with the archon increases its power to 2. For a 6 mana cost, this card is really use for medium mana limit matches. Anyway, I had 5 CC of this card and needed another 5 cards, which I bought for around 0.023$ - 0.026$ price range.

COLOSSUS RAIDER

The next card that I bought was the Colossus Raider snd this is a common type melee attack card that comes from the water element. This monster costs 5 mana to be used in battles and thou it only has a tiny amount if health, it carries high melee attack power and speed. Now, I had a handful of these cards and only needed 1 more to upgrade it to level 4. So, I bought it at a cheap rate, for only 0.01$, without any second thought.

FROSTGUARD WARRIOR

The last monster that was left in the water element to reach archon level 3 was the Frostguard Warrior, a rare type range attack card that costs a whopping 8 mana and also comes with snipe ability. So, this monster can ideally be used in medium to high mana limit matches. I has enough already of this monster sitting ideal and only needed 2 more, which I bought for only 0.01$ from the same market.

As you can see, finally after spending 4.414$ or 7423.477 DEC tokens, I have been able to upgrade my all of my water element cards to archon level 3. Now, only one more level is left for them to reach their max level, but without a doubt, that will take huge amount of time from here. Lets see how much it takes as I actively play collect and buy more cards in my arsenal.

Now I feel less guilty for buying Frontier cards 😅

I wanted to get them from playing and I felt I cheated when I bought some.

Nothing is cheating here my friend, in fact, we are actually helping the economy buy creating buy orders in market for foundation cards, thus creating value for them. For me, the water cards were a real pain, so I finally decided to throw some bucks to upgrade them a bit.

Mystic scaleweaver is the strongest card that is useful even in Modern mode. I'm on the lookout to upgrade my Frontier archons and buying them when somebody sells for cheap 😀

Yes, its 3 magic attack with such a large health alone is enough for the mana cost. There’s a reason it is selling for that high!

!pimp ! BBH

i bought mine too.. they were super cheep. i love water. i seem to like water summoners in general too. its my go to in brawls. you can get a fantastic foundations deck for like $20. its such a good option for new players... i love the simplicity of it.

happy playing
