I think everyone got the memo Conclave pack sales will be ending, but what I am pondering is do they know the main theme of all this is really to open up all the Conclave packs that is currently in circulation?
In all sets prior to Conclave it has been substantially beneficial to hold the packs longer term, maybe not for Chaos but that can change, due to price appreciation in the long run.
The longer a pack is held the more likely its resale value rises. In Conclave an adjustment was made where Jackpot cards would be introduced to lure players to open the packs to have a chance to win.
Now once the remaining Conclave packs are no longer in the market for sale it will still have remaining Jackpot cards up for grabs. These cards can only be obtain through third party card pack sales.
To date about 3,690 jackpot cards remain up for grabs where there are a little over 132k PE. The Alchemy and Legendary packs supposedly have greater chances of pulling a jackpot card due to their higher PE. In the end it is worth interesting to observe if in the third party market if the resale packs will moon due to the high amount of jackpot cards that could be won.
Out of curiosity I checked on peakmonsters on current top holders of Conclave.
There are some decent amount of packs distributed among current players as I don't see many hoarding a ton of packs. This maybe due to the actual price of a pack as DEC value has risen, and or just the existing players are saturated with packs that even Jackpot cards could not raise interest.
Quick look at current third party market it is bone dry. Not a pack is submitted to public for a price. I would imagine most if not all who currently bought and hold packs will remain diamond hand holders in anticipation for price appreciation of the packs.
The questions coming in my mind is what will this do to the overall card market prices? Will DEC continue to rise in terms of Hive as there could be potential bidding war for remaining packs?
