After watching the open card market for days on end I noticed that sometimes purchasing a gold foil of the card is better than a regular foil. Here me out.
Gold Max Less BCX
As the subtitle of this post says, gold foil at max level are less in bcx for every rarity.
The base value of a card would be is DEC burn rate. If we look specifically at Chaos series a regular epic one bcx is worth 100 DEC. Meanwhile the same gold epic one bcx is worth 2,500 DEC. A ratio of 25 times more valued for a gold foil compare to its regular foil. Then lets look at the lowest cost difference between gold and regular.
Looking specifically at a Wave Blood it appears the ratio price difference is 5.62x. Specifically a regular foil would require 46 bcx to max level.
Presently market's lowest cost for a max level Wave Blood regular is just under $80.
Looking at a gold foil version of the same card it takes 10 bcx to max level.
It ends up being a little under $97 for 10 bcx gold foil of the card to max level. So comparing $80 for a regular or $97 for a gold which would you prefer?
Benefits of Gold Foil?
The answer to the question lies in what benefits gold foil has? First off using gold foil in rank battles players earn a bonus of 10% more SPS per a win. The percentage bonus can be staked therefore if a player users 6 gold foil cards that alone is 60% more in SPS earned per a win.
Another benefit of gold foil is that they allow players to participate in gold foil only events and guilds.
These gold foil matches are limited in participants because there are fewer gold foil cards in circulation than regular foil. This leads to very lucrative opportunities with owning gold foil cards.
Conclusions
At a glance over there are plenty of cards currently on the market where price difference between regular foil and gold foil is not as wide as it seems when comparing them at max level. It would be ideal for players who plan long term to focus on gold foil versions as the price difference may be small enough to be worth wild purchasing. I myself will be paying attention to the price difference between both foils at max levels for the foreseeable future.

I was exepcting a bigger price difference between a gold and a normal card. I would also say that gold cards can be used in brawls for the gold only matches.
