Another season is under 24 hours from finishing. Can the rental market reach another all time high in rentals? When will it stop increasing?
Last Season Highest Rentals Ever
For seasons after Chaos got introduced the near end of season days has always been very positive for the rental market. The prices have remain pretty steady while the amount of cards being rented out continues to increase season after season.
This leads me to believe rental cards are getting cheaper as the quantities of cards rented out increases while the price has remain somewhat the same through the seasons.
With less than 24 hours left in current season the lowest rental price of cards are around 150 CP / DEC. This is better than past seasons as it was closer to 100 CP / DEC. Evidence that rental prices are lower than past seasons.
Cards Prices Also Lower
As rental prices fall so are card prices. A full max regular set of Chaos reward cards are now under $300. While a full max regular of Chaos set is under $8,000. The lower price in cards are allowing prices as a whole drop. This sales pressure is also lowering the price of Splinterlands token assets such as DEC.
Conclusions
As of now a little under 550k of cards are rented out and averaging each card rented at 18 DEC / day. This season I focused to yield more in rank battles and decided to rent out less cards with that approach. In turn I personally am yielding less in rental fees.
Also worth noting the drop in rental earnings came on the back that the card prices has also fallen in price. As of now my current collection which is at its highest in CP ever yet only worth a little under $38k. Not sure if prices will continue to fall but I play Splinterlands on a daily basis and active in the markets daily. I will not be changing that any time soon.

Have you tried to use filters peakmonsters? Honestly takes less than a minute to revise 400 rentals. Under filters select “yes” for rentals and “no” to delegation. It will list all active rentals that have not rented and allow you to change rental prices in batches. The sticking point cool down takes 24 hours.
Out here making 4k DEC at the moment that should bump to about 7k here soon. For sure though I could be listing a lot more cards up on rental and have been slowly accumulating combining cards and listing. The thing is though DEC prices are nothing what they use to be and I hear they are being pegged to $0.001 so I don't have high hopes for all that much in profits from DEC rentals until the airdrop is over for SPS.
I know what you mean with the dec price drop. All we can do is play with the hand that is given to us. I am still accumulating dec and slowly buying cards to stack too. I am hoping the cards themselves will rise in value more than dec. meanwhile just saving dec patiently waiting for card deals.
It was a bit annoying this season because the rental prices also dropped. I guess I did buy a few cards this season so it wasn't that bad but I noticed that cards in DEC terms are going up. It seems like DEC price is dropping to the peg and it's increasing the value of each card in DEC.

Yes dec getting back to peg is effecting rental prices. I have been adjusting my rentals to try and earn more dec due to the drop in its value. It has worked so far where I am getting more dec from my usual end of season.
Max chaos pack is lower in prices again. I think rental cards are cheaper, because there's a lot more cards available !
