Hi all, first time poster to #splinterlands but I have been playing the game for a few months now. Decided to start posting a journal like some of you all to share my fun and earn a little Hive to augment my DEC.
A little about me since this is my first post in here. I'm still just a Bronze player since I'm not really all that interested in investing much in my deck. That said, I have tried to improve my Fire and Water splinters to be pretty competitive at the bronze level.
With the introduction out of the way, lets get to the post.
Daily Quest
I drew a Water Quest. Yes! Like I said, I have a beefed up my Water and Fire decks and am able to chew threw those quests pretty fast.
Game 1
Game 1 was a very good fit for my water deck. A low mana no-legends match. I went with the sit back and blast them while they try to chew threw my low-mana do nothings monsters.
My opponent selected Zintar (-1 melee to opponents) and death. Bad pick since I didn't have any melee monsters. Meanwhile, I picked Alric (+1 magic) which increased two of my monsters attack.

He managed to kill my Chicken and nothing else. 1 Game, 1 win. Nice start. 6.4 DEC awarded.
Game 2
This time I got a mid-level mana Target Practice game. I went with my Sea Monster with a heavy magic backup. My opponent picked Pyre (+1 speed).

I worried a bit early on because his Serpentine Spy was ravaging my backfield. But my Sea Monster with his heal ability was just too much.
2 Games, 2 Wins. 6.6 DEC reward.
Game 3
Game 3 was a mid-level mana armored up game. Perfect for a high magic game. That armor will help me but won't do anything to stop my magic attack.
My opponent picked Pyre again while I again picked Alric.
He managed to kill my chicken before I finished him off.
3 Games, 3 Wins. Reward 6.7 DEC
Game 4
Game 4 was an 18 mana Keep-Your-Distance. I decided to go with the sit back and blast strategy again. My opponent picked the Wizard and Life. But worst yet he had picked Failed Summoner
This was a very close game, but I won win one guy having 1 health left. Whew...
4 Games, 4 Wins, reward 6.8 DEC
Game 5
Game 5 was a low mana (13) standard game. Perfect again for my sit back and blast with magic strategy. But he picked the perfect summoner to counter, Bortus (-1 magic for opponents), and made a game of it.
While he had hoped his high speed flying monster would be hard to hit, it had no defense against magic and went down pretty fast.
5 Games, 5 Wins. Reward 6.8 DEC
Quest Reward
I got 10 DEC for the quest reward which isn't great, but I guess it is better than a potion.
Total Rewards for the Day
I didn't play a lot today so my total DEC earnings were just 128 DEC. Hopefully tomorrow I can win a card!
Leaderboard
After today I've worked myself up to 40th in the leaderboard. I need to gain another 120 rating points to get into 15th place and win a pack. Yesterday I would have said I couldn't make it, but today has been a very good day winning wize. But it seems every win is 2 or 3 points and every loss is -40. Hard to make advances.
