Hey everyone and welcome back to my Splinterlands blog! It's a little bit late to start with my first post to participate in this weeks challenges, but I always try to participate in both to maximize my earnings so I can keep building up my accounts, so I am curious... what are YOU buying with the blogging rewards?
Lately, I'm primarily focused on buying more SPS at these low prices, card sets come and go but there will always be the need of those precious Splinterlands Shards, the Challenge topic for this week is to blog about amazing things in Splinterlands and I this isn't even the real start of my post but I do want to mention this as well...
Now with the new reward set, a lot has changed and Play 2 Earn is back! I'm very excited we can pull cards again that can be sold! (or keep to play them of course)
Gold Foil cards can now instantly be sold but we can also earn unlock scrolls to unlock the regular foils to sell so now it's just like when I started playing Splinterlands back in 2021 when we pull one of those very cool cards, the excitement is back!
because I am running two accounts, one in Modern by myself, and one with my older cards handled by XBot every end of season there are some gold foils in my rewards, either in the rarity draws I buy or in the league promotion rewards the bot claimed by itself without me seeing any of it, so a couple of days ago I logged in to my bot account to see what Gold Foils I could sell so I can buy more SPS when I saw this beauty..
OMG! And I didn't even notice until then!
This is a great card but I'm ok owning a Regular Foil so I've put it up for sale so when it sells, I can buy back a Regular Foil and more SPS!
Expensive cards take longer to sell but I can be patient, the rest of the Gold Foils sold faster so little by little I am swapping my earned DEC for SPS to grow my stake!

So, this wasn't the main topic for this post but it was cool enough to mention! 😃

There are always enough cool things happening in Splinterlands, the world we call Praetoria. And when you've been around for some years the chance is you're very committed by now and the game has become a part of your life, it's definitely like this for me with 5 accounts in total and 1 extra guild owned account, owning land plots, doing the brawls for all those accounts and managing two guilds and on top of that making blog posts like this one it's fair to say I sometimes even DREAM about the game! 😅
Usually my shared battles are for my 'main' account, played manually in Modern League with a Silver level deck but most of the season i'm playing somewhere in the Gold League. This time I'm sharing a Brawl battle on my Wild Gold level alt account that was really cool and I was sure I would lose, even halfway in the battle things did NOT look good, my opponent had a really nice team with some excellent cards and while my Archon did counter their Archon very well (Void vs. Magic) my opponent picked a well balanced team with magic damage but also some heavy hitting melee monsters...
Sharing a battle
First look at the battlefield:
So as I've said earlier in this post the choice to bring Immortalis was a good one against Alric but my opponent used some heavy hitting melee monsters as well, and I don't have any protection against that...
My Line-Up:
- Archon: Immortalis - reason: Void.
- First position: Grund - reason: Good melee damage with Double Strike.
- Second position: Sandworm - reason: High damage Sneaker.
- Third position: Mycellic Slipspawn - reason: Taunt to make Grund survive a little longer.
- Fourth position: Spirit Hoarder - reason: Triage to heal the Taunt.
- Fifth position: Katrelba Gobson - reason: Without armor, she can easily kill hopefully.
- Sixth position: Goblin Psychic - reason: Tank Healer.
The Battle:
Round 1: My Taunt is almost killed, the enemy team is doing so much damage... this doesn't look good!
Round 2: Damn, 15 HP left in my entire team, against 26 and they're doing more damage!
Round 3: Yeah this is a loss for sure... 😕
Round 4: So, Katrelba is now the fastest unit on the board so it can strike two times, without armor that's two kills with the reborn against Relenor Cleaver, so that brings her health up two points as well as her attack, and Kulu Mastermind will hit my healer instead of Katrelba, spreading damage...
Round 5: O Shit! This is crazy! Katrelba is going to pull this off!
Round 6: Not cool my healer is killed but by now Katrelba is so fast and hits like a truck, with Double Strike! This will be a win after all!
Round 7: Well she may be a common card, but there's nothing common about this crazy lady, she's awesome!
It's a win for the team, with combined efforts we were able to reach the first position, our brawl stats are pretty nice!
