Hey everyone, welcome to another episode of the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Hidden Gems!
By participating every week in the two challenges the Splinterlands team has for players we can earn up votes to get some extra cash to buy Splinterlands assets with, so if you're not participating as a Splinterlands player, you should start today! 😃
This weeks topic is to make post about underrated cards in our decks, but I really think every card has it's use - maybe you don't use it every day like some meta cards but when you know WHEN to use it, it can mean the difference between a win or a loss.
To find out how you can participate in the challenge yourself, check out the official Splinterlands post here.

Weekly Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge

Every player has that one card nobody else seems to talk about…
This week, we want to shine a light on the cards that rarely get the praise they deserve — the Hidden Gems of Splinterlands.
✨ Challenge Prompt
Create a post highlighting a card you believe is underrated, overlooked, or misunderstood. Tell us:
What makes this card special?
In which mana caps or rulesets does it shine?
What lineups or synergies bring out its full potential?
Do you have a battle where it carried your team? (Share the link!)
Why do you think more players should be using it?
The card I choose to talk about for this post is Nimbledook Explorer!

A card without attack can't be that valuable without attack, right!?
In the lower levels this card 'only' gives the Protect ability to the entire friendly team which gives +2 armor, from Silver level it receives the Armored Strike ability so it can attack with it's armor.
The synergy this card has with team relying on the Armored Strike ability is huge though, basically giving two extra attack points two every member of the team with this ability.
Combining this with the Legendary Rebellion Archon, Elias Max Pruitt gives even more options - imagine a team in a battle where melee cards can strike from anywhere with Mantaroth, Aerial Shieldmaiden while Elias gives this ability to Commander Slade, all boosted their attacks by the Protect the Nimbledook Explorer gives them, and when melee can strike from any position such as Super Sneak, the Explorer can attack with it's own armor as well when you own a level 5 or higher.

Sharing a battle

First look at the battlefield:

Well I was right with a Lorkus team, but I think my opponent didn't see the Super Sneak ruleset!? it's back line is very vulnerable, when my team hits hard enough that corrupted healing will have no effect on the low HP units in the team, let's see how this goes!
My Line-Up:
- Archon: Elias Max Pruitt - reason: Armored Strike / Piercing tactic.
- First position: Skyspire Leopard - reason: Good attack, Void Armor and Retaliate.
- Second position: Marisol Contuma - reason: Fast, high attack and good basic armor to strike with when I give her the Armored Strike ability.
- Third position: Frigid Wolf - reason: 1 mana card will get 1 attack extra from Elias, not bad.
- Fourth position: Nimbledook Explorer - reason: The star for this post! Well actually Contuma is but the Explorer adds to the attack power AND it can attack with 5 armor itself, not bad for 4 mana!
- Fifth position: Halfling Refugee - reason: Great back line defender with healing for only 1 mana.
The Battle:
** Tactics Stage:** My opponent chose to give Life Leech / Affliction to Tatiana Blayde and Inept Healer, obviously I chose to give Armored Strike / Piercing to Contuma.

Round 1: Wow that's a lot of deaths in the first round! in the Ambush round the enemy Gobalano Soldier striked with 4 damage against my Halfling Refugee but the armor my Nimbledook Explorer gave, protected it from any damage on the Health Points, it was quickly killed anyway by Tatiana, gearing up her Bloodlust. My Contuma made two kills thanks to the Piercing, her total damage every turn is now already a whopping 17!

Round 2: Because Contuma is the fastest unit on the battlefield, it killed Tatiana in one blow and then went for the life of the Gobalano Soldier, gearing her total attack power up to 21 per round which is pretty much obsolete by now since there are only two low health units left on the other team.

Round 3: Divine Shield protected Ujurak Elder from dying so this takes one more round, total damage for Contuma... 23! 😆

Round 4: Contuma made the final kill, ending the battle with a total damage output per round of 25.

A solid victory with a nice reward!

Nimbledook Explorer is a great card with the right rulesets! I also like to use this card.
