I have started playing some anytime tournaments, and they've been very fun! I enjoy these much more than the regular single-elimination tournaments where you have to play at a certain hour. It never feels good to schedule a time to play, maybe even rent some cards, and be out of it in the first couple of rounds. For me, these have been much more satisfying to play.

Here's the prize pool:

In these tournaments, each person plays a number of game, usually 11, in a 24 hours period. The top X% (can be 20%, 30%, or 40%) advances to the next phase, which works exactly the same in the next 24 hours period. That means you only need enough time to submit all teams, twice, in two days! I rented a level 2 Byzantine Kitty for this. I wasn't able to use the card in too many battles, but it was fantastic when I did use it.

Tournament Report
Let's see how this one goes!
Day 1:
Match 1:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_9FasyfFSjDkAx6mJQO9N&ref=olaf.gui

They had Grum against my magic team. However, they didn't have much firepower on their other monsters. I was able to kill Grum before losing my tank and it ended up being a pretty easy win.

Match 2:

Free win number 1!

Match 3:

Free win number 2!

Match 4:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_qQsjDitNO5VzdVxEphYk&ref=olaf.gui

Facing a lower level Summoner always makes things easier, although, I think my team was better, even if they had everything maxed for Silver and also had a Fiend, I would have won this game. Axemaster at level 3 does a lot of damage.

Match 5:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_hw46eekBi460X7xJT595&ref=olaf.gui

My first loss of the tournament. Their strategy of 2 monsters with repair worked very well. They also applied much more pressure to my Grum with the Radiated Brute.

Match 6:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_yxAfaxTK1tGif7X004ZK&ref=olaf.gui

The game ended up being decided between the 2 monsters with Immunity: Forgotten One and Harklaw. Even without Retaliate, Forgotten One would have won easily, it just does more damage thanks to Tarsa's buff.

Match 7:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_M8JTjuOGEKfRuYNnsmPR&ref=olaf.gui

Scary game that could have gone much worse if their Chaos Dragon hit the back monsters on the second attack. Grum was able to hold the fort against their several magic attacks and even got a kill to make him last longer.

Match 8:

Free win number 3

Match 9:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_83fEMlWtype1Ei7TjlUW&ref=olaf.gui

My sneak monsters took out their backline while Axemaster was destroying the front. Their team couldn't handle this and quickly crumbled.

Match 10:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_EfSu3ySWSA3R62EjRu8B&ref=olaf.gui

They tried to go with mostly flying monsters and some anti magic but it wasn't enough against my superior firepower. Getting the poison on the first turn also helped.

Match 11:

Free win number 4!

10-1 in the first day is almost a perfect start, although, it does help to get 4 free wins. Let's see if day 2 goes as well as the first one.

Day 2:
Match 1:

Another free win! Free wins are common on day 1 but much rares on day 2. I can't complain about these freebies, though!

Match 2:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_0likG2nhoBXFP3t2pQsB&ref=olaf.gui

I was finally able to use Kitty in a match where my opponent doesn't flee. They have good cards, especially Kron, however, with just a level 2 Obsidian, I quickly devastated their under leveled team.

Match 3:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_upWRdLJET99dTwsHxwhv&ref=olaf.gui

Close game but I ended up losing after fatigue. Not having armor against Mylor was too much for Kitty to handle.

Match 4:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_3qhFxwIvOrWW2PGqsxuP&ref=olaf.gui

Another super close game. Kitty against Yodin. This time I was able to win. The moment that defined the game was at the end of turn 1 when Molten Ash Golem had a 30% miss on my Tide Biter. This allowed Diemonshark to attack on sneak, instead of being at the front, to take out Serpentine Spy. The most interesting part was the interaction between Trample, Sneak, and Camouflage. Usually, Trample doesn't work with Sneak, because it's attacking the last monster. However, since Countess Sinash has camouflage, Diemonshark wasn't attacking the last monster. This allowed Diemonshark to also get another kill. Suddenly they were down 2 monsters and lost the speed boost from Countess Sinash. After that, the game was mine. But it all came down to a 30% miss and a very cool interaction between several abilities.

Match 5:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_ixIwn4I7dDxWA1JUJbZI&ref=olaf.gui

They had a good strategy with Failed Summoner at the front. However, thanks to Equal Opportunity, my monsters only attacked it after killing everything else, so I won.

Match 6:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_g2w2N5yoBrcXpb9v2yCj&ref=olaf.gui

My Grum got a few dodges, which gave him time to kill monsters and get the Bloodlust bonus. I did not need all the misses but I needed at least one, maybe 2, because they got the poison right away.

Match 7:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_aQ9Fvxr0gZvQICwUDfNQ&ref=olaf.gui

It was my turn to get unlucky. I had to lose two speed ties to lose this game and I did. If I win one, the game is mine. That gives me a 75% chance of winning but it happens.

Match 8:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_n35WcddC6Cn6tB2NG38l&ref=olaf.gui

We have similar teams but Kitty is so much better than General Sloan. My monsters were faster and couldn't miss. My Uriel also had double healing. I was able to kill their Uriel pretty fast and I never lost one monster.

Match 9:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_M6yLRHG96UEogtYNM1DO&ref=olaf.gui

This was a close and scary game. I was getting some misses on Oshannus but I was able to take out the healer before my sneak monster go into the front, which was 100% necessary for me to get the win.

Match 10:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_2fxmLndPhwykRyQuulAO&ref=olaf.gui

Another close game. At some point, I thought it didn't look good for me but I was able to pull the win.

Match 11:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_PgDROi0CzmOegEkxm1AY&ref=olaf.gui

I was able to get Cornealus to 3 HP before my Axemaster died, so it was close. I think the only way I could have won with a similar team was having Scavo Hireling

8-3 on the second day for a 18-4 total. It was a great tournament with a lot of close games and some great interactions! Congratulations to Lawrenceeee, the champion, and to everyone else who played!

I hope you enjoyed reading this and if that's the reason you decide to start participating in these tournaments, please let me know!
