Today I have the joy of bringing my entry to the #Splinterlands art contest, I'm excited to share it!!!. For this opportunity I have chosen two cards, one from the "Life" category and the other from "Death", both are legendary cards although not from the same edition, but I liked the concept of putting them together, because I liked the combination.... Next I share with you the process of it.

Hoy tengo la dicha de traer mi participación en el concurso de arte de #Splinterlands, estoy emocionada por compartirlo!!!. Para esta oportunidad he escogido dos cartas, una de la categoría "Vida" y otra de "Muerte", ambas son cartas legendarias aunque no de la misma edición, pero me gustó el concepto de juntarlas, porque me gustó la combinación.... A continuación comparto con ustedes el proceso del mismo.
The chosen cards are "Bila The Radiant" and "Theorosa Nightshade". As I mentioned days ago I had already planned to combine cards, but in my mind I couldn't find any balance until I found these two. Both caught my attention, so I started to make the sketch, which cost me almost a whole morning of work and several cleanings of it.
Las cartas elegidas son "Bila The Radiant" y "Theorosa Nightshade". Como ya comenté hace días tenía pensado combinar cartas, pero en mi mente no encontraba el equilibrio hasta que encontré estas dos. Ambas me llamaron la atención, así que me puse a hacer el boceto, que me costó casi una madrugada entera de trabajo y varias limpiezas del mismo.
Sketch - Line Art - Colors
Having already a base of more or less what I wanted, I moved on to the line art and the base colors.
Teniendo ya una base de más o menos lo que quería, pasé al line art y a los colores base.
Shadows and Lighting
Bila was undoubtedly the character that gave me the most work, mostly on her face. It didn't reach what I wanted... besides it's obvious that I had more details because Theorosa is located from behind, so it didn't give so much of a mess.
Combining elements of both was a job, not so tedious, but it did give some low blows, since I wanted it to look harmonious, without implying that one was more than the other. In the background of the center I focused on Bila, using warm tones and brightness, while the frame of this I focused on Theorosa, placing some runes that went with her.
Bila fue sin duda el personaje que más trabajo me dio, sobre todo en su rostro. No llegaba a lo que yo quería... además es obvio que tenía más detalles porque Theorosa se encuentra de espaldas, así que no daba tanto rollo.
Combinar elementos de ambos fue un trabajo, no tan tedioso, pero si dio algunos golpes bajos, ya que quería que se viera armonioso, sin dar a entender que uno era más que el otro. En el fondo del centro me centré en Bila, usando tonos cálidos y brillo, mientras que el marco de éste me centré en Theorosa, colocando algunas runas que iban con ella.
Process and Details
In the outside background I made some dead trees, and a dark background going with Theo's nature... and in his frame I placed warm colors that made Bila's personality, but I felt that something was missing to express more of her, so I made a flash of light that encompassed the three pictures. I definitely feel it gave it a nice touch.
The brushes I used this time were watercolor, airbrush and galaxy effect for the central background.
En el fondo exterior hice unos árboles muertos, y un fondo oscuro que iba con la naturaleza de Theo... y en su marco coloqué colores cálidos que hacían la personalidad de Bila, pero sentí que faltaba algo para expresar más de ella, así que hice un destello de luz que englobaba las tres figuras. Definitivamente siento que le dio un buen toque.
Los pinceles que utilicé esta vez fueron acuarela, aerógrafo y efecto galaxia para el fondo central.
