Splinterlands Free To Play Could Be Huge

The Splinterlands blockchain-based trading card game is one of the top blockchain-based play-to-earn games with a strong community and a vibrant history. Unfortunately, it is expensive to start playing, and has a tough time attracting new players. Could a free-to-play version of Splinterlands solve many of the challenges? My key point is that a free-to-play mode gives players a nice on-ramp to the game where they can experience the gameplay at its fullest without extracting value. They can really grow to appreciate the game without feeling like it is a continuous cash grab. After learning the basics of the game, some players will keep playing for free (and hopefully telling their friends how cool the game is), some will buy decks, some will buy packs, and some will just use the free-to-play mode as a training ground for entering tournaments. Free-to-play is a dominant business model in almost all of mobile/web gaming, and I think such a feature is worth consideration by the Splinterlands team. #spt #splinterlands #nft
