Hello Everyone, this time i want to write blog about Battle Weekly Challenge, This battle theme is about Serpent of Eld, monster from water element with 7 mana cost, The armor and HP is not that great but it have good speed and dodge skill. I play in Gold league Modern Format. for playing i rent my card. I'm using silver league card, max level, to battle in gold league.

Ruleset
From left to right :
- Spreading Fury, all monster have enrage skills (increased Melee attack and Speed when damaged)
- Mana Cap 28.
- Can Use element Fire and water.
My Lineup and strategy
For this battle i choose Water element cause i think in water vs Fire usually water will win because that extra armor and speed. Fire need 1 more hit to eliminate the armor and sometimes miss cause high speed of monster in water element. Fire and Water Monster melee and range in middle mana cap like this usually have bigger damage than magic type monster which is more easy to kill. I predict my enemy will used front attack monster like combination from meele and range type monster or sneak and opportunity team monster. I choose to used sneak and opportunity monster and strengthen the frontline and backline so can hold longer while my sneak and opportunity monster kill enemy backline.
This is our summoner Kelya Frendul, this is the most used summoner in the water element. Many
beginners to professional players still use it. He can adapt to various kinds of rulesets.
First Position, i choose this monster as our tanker because the ruleset enrage, if not i may choose Diemonshark which have enrage skill :
Strength :
- High damage and great speed
- Dodge skill give 25% increase chance to evade the enemy attack.
Weakness :
- Armor and Hp for 7 mana cost is not that great
Second Position, this is our main attacker have high damage and speed, opportunity skill make this monster can attack from any position. He served as a second tanker as well.
Third Position, our 2nd attacker with sneak skill, high speed with flying almost guarantee to hit the enemy.
Fourth position, support only, this monster can't attack. The main task is to heal Serpent of Eld in first position.
Fifth position, same like merdaali Guardian support only, this monster can't attack. The main task is to restore armor of Serpent of Eld in first position. But it can restore any other monster armor too in any position.
Sixth position, This is our tanker in the backline just in case the enemy brings sneak team monsters, with good speed and flying hope can dodge some enemy attacks.
Did your strategy work?
The strategy work, the enemy used front attacker, but I didn't expect the enemy to use Djinn Oshannus magic type monster. Flying squid make the enemy hard to hit because have blind skills. U can see in round 3,4 and 5 when Serpent of Eld attack Djinn Oshannus although have same speed 9 and lower speed 8, but the attack is miss because of the blind skill. Our Serpent of Eld almost died several time but the speed and dodge skill save him, the enemy attack miss. The strategy to support Serpent of Eld to live as long as possible is success he alive until the end of battle, make our Deeplurker and Pelacor Bandit can kill other enemy backline monsters.
What will you try differently next time?
I think it's good enough already, but if i see previous battle from the enemy , and see it used many magic monster i may change the strategy.
If we are in doubt, don't forget to check the battle history of our enemies. Maybe we can find clues to what strategy our enemy will use.
Do you like Serpent of Eld? Why or why not??
I do like it. Have good ability to evade the enemy attack usefull in ruleset "all monster have blast" if we can't used monster with reflected shield, or put it in the backline in ruleset "all monster have sneak skills" to evade the enemy attack.
In many situation i prefer using Diemonshark because have higher HP, armor and have enrage skill.

I like Serpent of Eld when it Untamed was one of the starter cards. But now that I play in modern, I miss its dodge ability and good damage.

When i'm still new player i used it alot, at level 1 already have dodge skill,and then come Diemonshark with every upgrade level it become better and better, Thx @jabeesaints :)
