FLUXCORP Splinterlands Guild: UPDATE #1.

in Splinterlands3 years ago

Hello FLUXCORP members and onlookers,

FLUXCORP has grown substantially in its first two months. We are already at our current maximum membership of 16 people and have built several of the guild buildings: A level 2 Town Hall, Level 2 Lodge, and a Level 1 Arena.

Our current guild ranking is #556, with a guild rating of 13,997.

We look forward to participating in our first guild brawl this week! Unlocking the Arena is a big step forward as we establish our foundation and work towards climbing the guild ranks.

There are several big updates in this post. Let's get into it.

Update #1: Seasonal Prizes for Active Club Members

Starting next season, we are having a fun competition within the club. Everybody who has a rank of at least 1000+ at the end of the season will be automatically entered into a lottery for HIVE tokens.

Three winners will be chosen at random from all guild members who have achieved the 1000+ MMR. Each winner will receive 12 HIVE! I am paying for this out of pocket, if all goes well I'll offer bigger prizes in future seasons :-)

Myself and @tubetoast are not eligible for these prizes.

Update #2: Club Membership Fee Changing From Weekly to Monthly

We have had a loose voluntary policy of donating 100 DEC to one of the club buildings every week. It is time to revisit and re-assess this policy.

Club members are now expected to contribute 300 DEC once per month to a club building of their choice. This is about the same (a little less) as the old weekly amount, but doing it monthly will be easier to keep track of.

This will start in September. Everybody in the club is expected to contribute 300 DEC to a club building of your choice at some point during the month.

New members of the guild do not have to pay any membership fees for their first month.

I do not profit from the club, in fact I lose money on it. The purpose of this fee is simply to help everybody in the club build up towards bigger bonuses and more earnings.

Update #3: Minimum Rating of 1000 MMR Established

Going forward, all guild members will be expected to establish a rating of 1000+ MMR in the first week of each season.

Guild rating is calculated based on the combined rating of every member in the guild. If people in the guild are regularly skipping seasons, they will hold back the entire guild's ability to rank higher on the leaderboard. I have been as guilty as anybody of this.

By establishing a minimum expected MMR, we will also filter out players who do not wish to actively play the game. There are no hard feelings, but guild space is limited and I want to make room for the active players who want to participate.

I want to be clear, 1000 MMR is a very low expectation. This is not meant to make everything super "sweaty" or stressful, it's only meant to clear out inactive players.

Players can take a season off now and then if they need to, just let me know in advance.

Conclusion

FLUXCORP is stepping up to the next level. Initially a casual social club, we are now activating "serious mode" to achieve the full potential of the club and earn greater rewards for everybody involved.

There are many many more things we can do to make the guild feel more fun and engaging. Let's take it one step at a time, and my DMs are always open for ideas or feedback in general. :-)

I'll share another update soon. Please leave any feedback in the comments.
