Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing great and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.
Today I wanted to make another card spotlight post and this time the card is Coralforged. Honestly this card surprised me alot after I started using it more in ranked battles. At first I thought it was just another normal tank card, but after seeing its abilities together, I realized this thing can become really annoying for the enemy team.
Coralforged is a Common Water unit and at max level 10 it gets 4 abilities. The combination of survivability and utility makes it very strong in many situations, specially when enemy team relies on melee or ranged attacks.
What I like most about this card is that even tho it is a common card, it does not feel weak at all. Sometimes common cards in #Splinterlands can become hidden gems and I think Coralforged is one of them.

The stats are pretty solid honestly. Good survivability, decent speed and very annoying abilities. I mainly use this card in Water teams when I expect physical damage from enemy lineup.
The artwork also looks really cool. It kinda gives that heavily armored sea guardian vibe.
𝐀𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝟏: 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐤
Flank: At the beginning of the battle, if this unit is in the first position, the unit in the second position gains Reach.

This ability is super useful. It allows another melee monster behind Coralforged to attack from second position. That means you can put extra pressure on enemy frontline very quickly.
I really like using strong melee damage dealers behind Coralforged because of this. It creates a very agressive frontline setup.
Sometimes opponents dont even expect double melee pressure that early in battle.
𝐀𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝟐: 𝐅𝐮𝐫𝐲
Fury: Deals double damage if the target has Taunt.

This ability can become insanely dangerous against Taunt units. There are many players who rely heavily on Taunt monsters to protect their backline, but Coralforged can punish them very hard.
Double damage is no joke.
I had one battle where Coralforged almost deleted a Taunt monster by itself and the enemy strategy completely collapsed after that.
Even tho Fury does not activate every match, when it does, it feels sooo satisfying.
𝐀𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝟑: 𝐃𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐞
Dodge: +25% chance to evade physical attacks

This is where the card becomes even more annoying. Missing attacks in Splinterlands can completely change battles and Dodge gives Coralforged extra survivability.
When combined with decent speed, enemy melee and ranged units start missing attacks pretty often.
And honestly nothing feels better than watching enemy attacks miss again and again while your tank survives.
I think Dodge is one of the most underrated abilities in the game because one missed attack can completely shift momentum.
𝐀𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝟒: 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝
Shield: 50% less damage from physical attacks or 0 damage from physical attacks of 1 power.

Now this ability is HUGE.
Shield makes Coralforged really tanky against melee and ranged attackers. Physical damage becomes much weaker and low damage attacks become almost useless.
This is why I think Coralforged works best against heavy melee teams. Opponents sometimes struggle to even break through the armor and health.
When Dodge and Shield activate together, Coralforged becomes really frustrating to deal with.

The thing I love most about Coralforged is balance.
It can:
Support teammates with Flank
Punish Taunt with Fury
Survive longer with Dodge
Tank physical damage with Shield
That is alot of value for a common card honestly.
Some cards are only good for attacking while others are only good for tanking, but Coralforged feels like a complete package.
I think this card becomes even stronger in rulesets with heavy melee battles because Shield gets crazy value there.
𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍
Overall I think Coralforged is a very underrated Water unit. Many players probably ignore it because it is a common card, but after testing it myself, I think it deserves way more attention.
The ability combination feels really smooth and useful in many battle situations. I will probably keep using this card alot more in ranked matches.
#Splinterlands keeps adding interesting cards and finding hidden gems like this is honestly one of the funnest parts of the game for me.
Anyway thats it for today’s #splinterlands grind. More battles tomorrow and hopefully more crazy moments too. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
