After a Longer Break

A great day to all Splinter gamers all over the world!

I am happy to be back writing after more than two months of rest.

19 May 2022 was the last time I participated in Social Media Challenge. I observe that my content has become repetitive and boring. I hope that taking a break will help me refocus my energy and my mind.

Thanking Splinterlands for the Growth of my HIVE Power (HP)

I appreciate the fact that Splinterlands played a major role in building up my HIVE power (HP) during the initial months I have been on Hive. Participating in both the Social Media Challenge and Share Your Weekly Battle Story contributed a lot to this growth.

Some Adjustments Due to Change in Rewards

Nevertheless, despite the discontinuity of my writing activity, I still play the game regularly. However, with the change in rewards, I struggle to maintain four gaming accounts. It appears that the interest of my family in this game particularly my two sons is difficult to regain. They found more appealing games which they spend more time with. As for me, I still believe in the long-term prospect of the game and that is why despite the difficulty, I still do my best to complete every season using four accounts.

I think with the changes in rewards, it is more appropriate for me to maintain two accounts so I can maximize the results. Moreover, if I will give up the other two accounts, I don’t have any idea what to do with them.

So far in playing the game I find it easier to earn both Daily Focus (DF) rewards and End of Season (EOS) rewards in the Bronze I league than in the Silver III league. And so, I am focusing more of my time on playing the three Bronze I accounts rather than my Silver III account. This season, I even decided for my account not to advance to Silver III but to end the season in Bronze I just like the other three accounts.

Most Recent Ranked Rewards Update

Just this afternoon (during the time of writing this article), I happened to check some Splinterlands updates for I intend to submit an entry this week both to Social Media Challenge and Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge. While checking, I stumbled upon this new rewards update. I read the comment section and I noticed that everyone is positive except for the change in minimum rental time to two days. I also don’t like it. It looks like not a free market to me. I don’t understand its logic. I am not sure about the connection between the change and the reduction in ECR-based exploits.

In the foregoing update, these are some of the items that I find relevant for me as a player:

  • The reduction of ECR from 1% to 5% when a player wins a ranked battle with an ECR below 50%.

  • In anticipating the end of the SPS airdrop on 26 July, a new incentive mechanism is now being prepared to maintain enough liquidity for Splinterlands tokens.

  • Different allocation of rewards for liquidity providers on Hive Engine: 1.5M SPS per month to SPS-HIVE pool, 750k SPS per month to SPS-DEC pool, and 375k SPS per month to VOUCHER-HIVE pool.

  • Start of new pools: 7.5M SPS per month for Ranked Battle rewards and 3.75M SPS per month for Validator Node License holders

  • The “new reward pools will be going primarily to the most active and involved players in the game who we hope will be more likely to stake or otherwise reinvest their SPS token rewards back into the ecosystem.”

  • New DEC reward pool of 70M DEC per month on Hive Engine: 20M DEC per month to DEC-HIVE pool and 10M DEC per month to SPS-DEC pool.

SPS Chart Reading

After a brief rally from the second week of September to the middle of October last year, the price of SPS dropped 90.30% from $1.07 down to $0.10 on 22 January this year. What follows is a four-month sideways movement ranging between $0.10 and $0.16 as the highest last 27 February. It was only on 05 May that the $0.10 support was broken until the token touched its floor price last 12 July at $0.03152.

Seven days before the end of the SPS airdrop, we now see the token gradually climbing up for the last eight days. Can this gradual climb be sustained? Has SPS already found its bottom and is now ready to start a new rally? Reading the chart of the token, these are the questions that come to mind.

Conclusion

As already mentioned, I still believe in the long-term prospect of this game. We are still too early in its development. I expect the game to grow continually in the coming months and years. Since no one knows for sure the precise direction of the price in the coming days, for me, the most important thing is the token’s utility and the game’s continuous growth. If a player believes in the future of this game, its current price should be taken as a great opportunity to grow your stakes.
