Conclave Arcana: A New Era For Battle Mage

In the next few weeks, Splinterlands will be going into a massive change with the upcoming release of Conclave Arcana which will be the 6^th major set for the game and will replace Chaos Legion in Modern Format. Not only it will come with a new batch of cards, there will also be new type of abilities and mechanics along with new card foils that certainly brings more hype for the set.

And so, for this week's Community Engagement Challenge, I will be exploring the upcoming release of the #ConclaveArcana and what are the things that I was most exited for this release.

Exiting New Mechanics: Archon Dominion and Bloodlines

There will be a total of 82 cards in Conclave Arcana Core set which contains:

🖤 24 Common Cards
💙 29 Rare Cards
💜 14 Epic Cards
💛 14 Epic Cards

This includes the Summoner cards which will be rebranded as Archons to clarify that we, the players are the real summoners and the Archons will represent the entity that we summon to lead the Unit cards. There will also be a new mechanic called Bloodlines play a significant role among the new Archons. Historically, all cards have Bloodlines specially when we read through their lore but under this new mechanic, they are now being brought forward mechanically and will provide special bonuses on the Bloodline cards that they have Dominion over it. At the same time, we can summon an unit which shares the same Bloodline as the Archon we selected regardless of their element.

For example, one of the new Archons Fithe Bladestone shares the same Bloodline with Dalthin Ironhood and Grimbardun Smith so nBoldot only the Archon can use it on battle but will also give them the Void Armor ability through Bloodline Dominion.

Exciting New Abilities

Aside from the new mechanics, there will be 8 new abilities that will come with the release of Conclave Arcana. As of the moment, only 4 of the new abilities have icons but we have the description of this new abilities.

Shapeshift	Cards with shapeshift are treated as if they were all races or any race. This allows them to benefit from bloodline-specific effects, such as being summoned by an archon with dominion over a particular bloodline. Two promo cards and one other core card are planned to have shapeshift.
Bloodline Tribune	A new form of Martyr that interacts with Bloodlines. When a card with Bloodline tribute was defeated, all units that share its bloodline receive a benefit, at minimum a boost to health, armor, and speed. If they share the same attack type, they also get a power boost.
Pain Forge	An ability that provides stat boosts when a unit takes damage from effects like burning, poison, or damage from an ally.
Reckless	When a unit with reckless land a successful attack, it inflicts damage to adjacent units. This can trigger the pain forge ability on friendly units. These abilities are expected to speed up matches due to higher damage potential.
Final Rest	A global effect that shuts down death trigger abilities for both sides of the battle such as Rebirth, Martyr and Resurrect while a unit with final rest is in play.
Resurgence	A new Rebirth ability where a unit comes back to life with full health and armor upon death and deals one damage to all units. This damage can also trigger pain forge.
Relentless Strike	This ability bypasses damage avoidance from abilities like Shield, Force Field, and Void, causing normal damage against units with these abilities.
Relentless Strike	A unit with Reveal will reveal a Camouflage unit on the opposing team at the start of its turn, making it targetable.

Black Foil and Arcane Cards

For the first time in the game, new card foils will be introduced to the game and it's not just one but two types of foils. The also comes with new card frames, animations and mint numbers in them as the will have very low mint and has higher Collection Power than Gold Foil Cards.

Black Foil Cards: Can be found in standard, legendary, and alchemy packs, with increasing odds respectively (1 in 4,000, 1 in 800, 1 in 400).
Arcane Cards: Both gold foil and black foil arcane cards will be found in standard, alchemy, and legendary packs, but not starter packs.

In line with this new card foils, a new Potion called Midnight Potion will be introduced to the game which will double the chance to get Black Foil cards and can be acquire through Aura Labs, a new type of Land work site, giving Land its first ever game utility. But first, land owners must first get a Permit by spending Research to be able to build the work site.

Promo Cards:

There will be 2 promo cards that will come with the Presale. Arcane Skinwalker which is a rare card guaranteed for every 40,000 DEC or Credits spent and Gramel the Hunger which is a legendary card guaranteed for ever 400,000 DEC or Credits spent with 4% chance of being a gold foil and a guaranteed gold foil for ever 25 copies. Black Foil versions of the card on the other hand though will only be obtainable through the Presale leaderboard.
