Ruleset Riddles: Explosive Weaponry

in Splinterlandsyesterday

Introduction

One ruleset that always gives me trouble is the Explosive Weaponry ruleset. In this post I am going to take a look at one of my Tier 5 Brawl battles where I battled against Immortal Gods guild member and Explosive Weaponry ruleset was in effect.

My Lineup Selection for Explosive Weaponry Ruleset

When I see Explosive Weaponry ruleset I immediately think of playing Fire splinter with Conqueror Jacek archon leading my team.

In the explosive weaponry ruleset the one who strikes first has an advantage so speed is critical. Conqueror Jacek adds two speed to all the cards on your team it also has two other useful abilities for the Explosive Weaponry ruleset.

Scattershot helps in this ruleset by giving higher chance of hitting targets in the middle of the lineup so that splash damage can hit two cards instead of just one if the monsters were hitting the monster in the first position. Another useful ability is Piercing that lets ranged and melee attackers do damage beyond the armor.

I like playing Arkemis the Bear in the fist position in the Explosive Weaponry ruleset, because it has a force shield so some of the big hitting tanks and monsters with reach ability and other monsters that hit the first position for five damage or more are effectively neutralized. Also, Arkemis adds two armor to all units and that is really useful in the Explosive Weaponry ruleset.

Arkemis the Bear also has a halving ability as well as Enrage ability both of which are useful in this ruleset. This common rarity promo card is very useful for this and other rulesets.

In the second position I have played Chimney Wallstop because this is a Brawl battle and I can use gladiator cards. My Chimney Wallstop is actually maxed out, but I can only play it at level 8 because our guild building is limiting me from playing it at max level.

I like Chimney Wallstop for the explosive weaponry ruleset because it comes with a high melee damage of six and high shield of four and relatively high health points of nine as well as reach, bloodlust and repair abilities all of which can become very useful in the explosive weaponry ruleset.

In the third place I have an old rewards card Lava Launcher that I like to play almost every time in the explosive weaponry ruleset. This epic rarity card is tailor made for the ruleset and Conqueror Jacek.

It hits for five ranged damage has stun and can even fire from the first position as well as having seven shield, six health points and a base speed of three and all of it for a relatively modest nine mana.

In the fourth position I decided to play a card I don't usually play in this ruleset, because there are lots of other great cards, but Tenyii Striker can be quite effective. It has sneak, backfire and dodge abilities as well as seven health points four speed and a hard hitting five melee strike.

In the fifth position I placed one of my favorites for this ruleset: Ash Mirage. This common rarity card is great for explosive weaponry ruleset because it has Deflect ability which prevents it from getting hit with the splash damage from the explosive weaponry ruleset. It also nerfs the opposing team attackers ranged damage and is a high speed ranged attacker that strikes for four ranged damage. It has six speed, eight health points and I have bought this card in the gold foil version because it was basically the same cost as the regular foil version at the time.

And last but not least we have Supply Runner. This is another card I play almost every time with the explosive weaponry ruleset because it speeds up the whole team and strengthens our team with his swiftness and strengthen abilities.

The Battle

Link to the battle

I can see that Weakling.Tzuyu5 from Immortal Gods is not really weak, he is using a very strong combination of very old cards like Spirit Miner and newer cards like Rush Townsend. He made even a bigger bet on speed in this battle than me by not only boosting the speed with Jacek and Supply Runner but also speeding everything up with the Spirit Miner as well as using ambush to strike at my team before the battle even starts!

In the first round we lost our Tenuii Striker due to the thorns of their tank, but not before it actually scored a backfire on their Lava Launcher. We did manage to take out their taunt tank, which is a big deal.

In the second round we took out two of their monsters without loosing any of our own, but our Supply Runner is getting dangerously close to being taken out as it has only one health left!

And in the third and final round we score an important win for my guild YGG Legion in this tier five brawl against Immortal Gods guild :)

Sort:

This summoner is odd, the speed is great but I don't like how it spreads damage with scattershot... Overall your lineup was a bit better

Spreading damage is a good thing in this case :)
