not sure why you thinking so negatively. I don't think it's anything about being poor or being whale. There's many choices in splinterlands to choose from. The thing is you can't have everything unless you are super rich (it was meant to be this way). like for me, I'm out of the land part of the game and I don't even have all the cards max which would be nice.
And the second that i want to share about my thought is The SPS Stake factor. This is literally like team really on side with the whale.
why would you think that? This is literally increasing utility for SPS. it's encouraging people to stake SPS and lock it in not being liquid and easy to sell. more lock = less supply circulating which will means less sell pressure on SPS which should hopefully increase SPS price. SPS price increasing will benefit everybody. Only 2500 sps (about 18usd) to get as low as 1 draw for the black foil stuff. this is super friendly entry. It's lottery system anyways it's going to be luck. Some people won yaba matt gold foil arcane pickle with 1 ticket man.
or Regular Foil player like me, i dont think it changes much. And it will be same with Gold Foil collector player. But after team released Black Foil and Gold Foil Arcana, and Black Foil Arcana, the value of Regular Foil and Gold Foil kinda reduced a lot
There's people that will collect what they can afford. Whales will go for BF GFA BFA. It's meant for people that want to collect; the hardcore people. It's same in real life. Not every pokemon card collector is going to buy a PSA10 first edition charizard from the first card set for god knows how much 100k USD? It's just for collection purposes man. You can still play the game with regular cards man. Regular cards still have value and same with gold foil.
So, Once again after so many times i felt that this game is literally only for whale or people that rich.
Frontier mode has been the most free friendly thing ever in the recent updates. How is frontier mode for whales too? I don't think this mode was ever for the rich.
In conclusion, I think you're not looking at it from a bigger view man. Your view is too closed. Did you ever consider the side of the whales? There are some that are down a lot of money especially from the chaos legion set and honestly whales like bravetofu and vugtis that are diamond handing and buying up everything are keeping the game alive. Without whales as part of stakeholders in this game, I don't think Splinterlands would've survived this long.
we are both not wrong
you think i am just looking not for bigger view?
If i am really like that i am just quit from this game a long time ago.
Yes indeed i know this game still have a bigger plan.
But back again this game is like country right now especially like third world country where people that rich can play anything in this game.and the middle man will hardly to breath and move. And the poor one will be supported from the rich to make them trapped in the middle.
And the fact mate, one player join until the middle we are lost more than 10 palyers back then because the system shifting to be like right now.
And yeah same with all thrid country those country would not survive if no whales inside. Thats why i think this system is suit for whales not for middle man. But, the good news is this game is assets relatable, so all player who knows how to maintain their assets and utilize the asset to max can do multiply the earning powers and little by little can grow to be part of whale or even replacing the whale it self but takes a lot lot lot of hardwork and times.
And how many people will doing that?
based on this post yes. almost everything you said talked about whale benefitting. I feel Splinterlands has been doing a good job balancing both sides of course slightly leaning towards the whales. It's normal for any type of business; you have to protect your biggest stakeholders.
In my opinion, So far everything has been decent after @DaveMccoy took over besides the BFA, BF, GFA affecting the conflict airdrop. They made it impossible for the middle to lower end participate in it which I feel is a mistake since the airdrop should be encouraging everyone to buy packs especially new players.
then what do you expect to be instant millionaire? In the end, this is a game with defi elements. You are also paying for "entertainment" and enjoying the game. People spend a lot of money on hearthstone, yugioh master duel but in the end they can't sell the cards. Splinterlands changes this. You can have ownership of a game you like and sell if you decide to quit. It's also one of the crypto web3 games that are still building. Have you seen what's happening in crypto gaming now? There are so many projects that are announcing that they are not continuing.
people are free to do what they want to do. That's the whole point of Splinterlands. You want land buy land. You want cards buy cards. You want the shiny cards then you buy the shiny cards. Nobody is forcing anybody to do anything really. It's up to what the person wants from the game. Some maybe just want to play for fun (they can play frontier)
You gave some amazing responses here @shawnnft !!!
