Hello all Splinterlands fans,
Splinterlands just made an announcement about the Conclave Arcana Reward Set in this post and there will be a lot of changes in the game after that. I will not repeat the changes that are mentioned very clearly in the post from Splinterlands team. However, I will share my thoughts and my strategy for these changes in this post. This is also my entry for Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Conclave Arcana Reward Set!
1. Glint will be more scarce
It is very easy to see that all the prices in reward shop are increased significantly.
Rarity draws
The old prices are 150 Glints for Common, 750 Glints for Rare, 7,500 Glints for Epic, and 35,000 Glints for Legendary.
Let's take a look at the new prices. All prices are double compared to the old prices. Even if the prices are doubled, the GF change will be reduced by half. That means the new GF rate is only 1/4 of the old GF rate.
One more highlight about the Alchemy potion. You need to spend more quantities for the higher rarity. I have never used up all my Alchemy potions. But I think I will need to buy more Alchemy potions when this change goes live.
Loot chest
Here are the old prices for loot chests
And here are the new prices. They will increase by 2.5 times compared to the old prices, except Ultimate chest. It seems the team wants to make a round number for it.
Energy cost
This is the old Energy Glint cost

And this is the new one. Prices are the same from Bronze III to Silver I. Starting from the Gold league, energy price increases from 13% to 30%. I think this is the correct approach because the higher rank earns more Glints than the lower rank. However, I don't know if the energy cost can be split by the format or not. Currently, I need to pay 600 Glint per energy to play in the Modern format, Bronze I league. It is because I am sitting in Gold III in Wild format. Even though I don't own any Wild pass and do nothing in it, I still need to pay a high price for energy to play in the Modern format. That's not logic at all in my opinion.

2. One more use case for DEC and SPS - Weekly Fortune Draw and Weekly Draw Pass
You can participate in the Weekly Fortune Draw with a Fortune Draw pass. It costs 125 DEC. In my opinion, it is a reasonable price. I can buy multiple Weekly passes up to 53 weeks, and I don't know if there is any discount to do it or not. I hope there is a discount for it.
This weekly Fortune Draw is a new form of the Daily reward chest that the team already eliminated a moment ago. You need to play daily and win 5 games to get 1 entry for the Draw. It pushes you to play regularly to maximize the benefits from the Weekly Fortune Draw. This system is currently applied in the Frontier format with no cost.
The number of entries in Weekly Fortune Draw will be capped by the staked SPS amount. Currently, I have ~ 33K staked SPS in my account, and I will have max 4 entries each week. I hope this cap will push more buy pressure to SPS, especially from the ones who have the current staked SPS amount close to the limit.

I really hope this move will have some positive impact on the DEC and SPS price in the near future.
3. My strategies with this change
I will return to Modern format to stack as much Glint as possible before the change goes live, probably on Oct 21st.
I normally focus on buying Common and Rare draws. With this new price, I may focus more on Common draw and get a higher GF chance with Alchemy potion. It is the best ecomonic option for me at the moment.
I will participate in the Weekly Fortune Draw. I hope I can get some rewards if I join it continuously for 1 year. It's a test for my luck as well 😆😆
Increase my staked SPS to 50K to increase the entry cap to 6, which is 50% increase compared to my current level. I don't think I will go to 100K to get 2 additional entries each week. It is too far away from my current level.
That's all for now. I hope you find some useful information in this post.
Have a nice week ahead!
