Sounds like we have similar tastes in beverages. Oat milk seems to be hard to come by in these parts, ie; it is much more expensive.
Here is on average about 3x more expensive than regular milk. Almond, oat or coconut milk it is same price shelf, it is really depend form the brand. For almond milk the best one I have found so far is 'Plenish' one, no additions and other nonsense.
Your hot chocolate sounds like a spiced rum, which used to be my go to beverage when I still consumed alcohol.
I like experiment with spices. I was trying everything with my coffee too :D
I have little to no knowledge about alcohols in general. What way it is 'spiced' rum? It is just high percentage beverage with pinch of cinnamon in it? Or more sophisticated way - would it be a rum aged in an oak barrel that previously housed the soul of a 100-year-old chardonnay?
Yeah, spiced rum is just using things like vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and those things that you would likely put in a cake, but putting it in the rum. Rum is made from sugarcane, so it is basically a cake in liquid form when it is spiced and mixed with various things.
One of my favourite things to do was to take the flavoured vanilla pepsi or coke (it didn't matter which), use a spiced rum (Kraken, or Captain Morgan black) - add lime wedges, and finish it with a dash of a fortified white wine made by a local place.
It would taste like a caramel delight with hints of vanilla and was such easy drinking. To me at least. I prefer to have my liver not do so much heavy lifting any more, so no more. Also, it was just empty calories.
Just realised what a narrow palette of flavours I have :D
Love lime though. For cooking mostly, but I just cannot get enough this thing. Grated lime zest can make even lame, boring food exciting!
It is actually sound like dessert:) Yeah, liver over some short time pleasures:)
I don't drink much alcohol, but I don't like sweet and thick, caramel - like structured ones. Don't really understand the concept :D
I swung between drinking that and "girly" white and rose wines. I was quite eclectic in my tastes, and I didn't care. :D
In order to find something that we really like we have to try things, there is no other way:)
