I'm not a big Splinterlands player in terms of asset holdings or game rankings. But I still stick around because it has a good team behind it as well as a vibrant community. And although there is a lot of discord right now due to the falling asset prices, there are still many who are strong believers of Aggroed and Yabapmatt's vision for the project.
When the presale of the PNS token was announced, I transferred the majority of my SPS holdings into it. This turned out to be a great move for me considering the gains I had from it during the soft launch. I used that capital to invest in other projects mainly in the BSC which is yet to have some meaningful returns.
And now, I am left with a small holding of Splinterlands assets. And with this bearish market conditions, I believe there is an opportunity for me to take advantage of the situation. I firmly believe that Splinterlands will survive this cycle and will thrive again so I have to look for ways to capitalize on it.
❌CARD ASSETS
Like most trading card games, speculating on cards is a very risky practice and I believe this is also true with Splinterlands. First, there is the modern format rotation. Sure, there are insanely good deals on a lot of Chaos Legion cards right now but they will eventually move to the Wild format which has lower rewards. This is not a problem if I am just playing for fun but I also really consider the financial aspects of it. And with limited budget coming mostly from just doing blogs like this and other projects on Hive, I have to pick carefully what I buy.
✔️SPS TOKENS
It's not like I have a huge capital, but this would be where the majority of my funds will go to. Like I mentioned in many of my Splinterlands posts before, SPS is the best asset to own if you believe in the project, in my opinion. Aside from the staking rewards of SPS and VOUCHERS, you can double-dip on your gains by renting out those same SPS. And with the recent update, you can now triple dip because those tokens are also able to gain you COLONY tokens! Not many tokens can say that they have the same benefits as SPS.
And being the main token for Splinterlands, speculators that are outside the ecosystem will mostly just buy SPS to have some exposure to the project. It's now reaching an all-time low which would be a great buying opportunity.
✔️LAND NFTS
This is a more longer-term investment but land plots are my second priority for now, specifically those available for my two regions, Saragar(8) and Yorric Dale(17). The big downside to owning lands is that the team appears to put its development on hold in favor of other aspects of the game including new player experience and quality of life improvements.
But delaying land development for the foreseeable future also presents itself as a good buying opportunity for those who want to stock up on cheap plots. The floor price right now of around $17 is a bit lower than the initial $20 cost during the presale. But if think about it, land may be one of the most scarce assets in Splinterlands with just 150,000 supply. And the plans for its utility look promising, from resource gathering to item and spell creation.
In summary, land and SPS tokens are the two main assets that I am eyeing right now for this downtrend cycle. I just hope that I have a long enough time to accumulate them. And once again, this is only my own opinion and not intended as financial advice.

Wow, magaling yung strategy mo para sa bear market, parang well-thought out talaga. Panalo yung move mo sa PNS token, sana maganda rin ang kalabasan ng investments mo sa ibang projects. Tama ka, importante talaga na piliin mo yung mga assets na tingin mo may future, lalo na sa Splinterlands.
