The US legislation is certainly causing other DAOs to panic. The stake to "win" means that the language can be both construed as unregulated lottery or unregulated investments or both. The classification of DAOs as a partnership (rather than a digital form of credit union) with each member subject to unlimited liability is really worrysome. This "stretch", as you put it, needs a decent amount of research and consideration before it bites people in the ass and unignorable.

The fact that Splinterlands is pitched as a game yet looks less like one as soon as you start playing certainly rings alarm bells for me.
