From Novice to Bronze One Rewards

Hi Splinterlands!

When I first started I was determined not to invest and work my way up and while this is possible my patience didn't match my ambition. So I am now in the hole for a few dollars but here is one tip for $3 to get you progressing towards Bronze League One rewards to help you build out quicker without massive investment.

As a beginner I would advise against buying packs, as exciting as they are you don't have control of the team you are building as you never know what will drop. Buying cards on the secondary market is a fantastic way to go to get you into Bronze One, I managed it with the following three cards.

Card One: Mylor Crowling $2.39

This would be my first purchase. In the lower bronze leagues the melee attack is heavily used and Mylor is the perfect defense to this attack as all monsters receive the Thorns ability. This turns your chicken into a potential one off -2 for the opposition but not only that every melee attack leaves with a -2 taste in their mouth. Currently on the market for $2.39 at the time of writing. Just this card alone gave me a Bronze win rate of about 80%.

Three cards and already $2.39 spent, how cheap are the others I hear you ask???

Card Two: Nectar Queen $0.07

Next is Nectar Queen. When combined with Mylor (above) this is a deadly first position paring. Very few other combos bring this down without up grading cards to higher levels but that's not to say its impossible, magic is a weakness. Nectar has a hefty strike and combined with any melee attack leaving with another -2 from Mylor makes the opposition tank wince. Obviously this can only be played in higher mana games with the price tag of 9 mana but is worth the 7 cent investment.

Card Three: Wood Nymph $0.51

Finally Wood Nymph and tank healing. Wood Nymph has the special ability of tank healing and this is an under utalised ability in the bronze leagues (unless you're battling for the top of the table). If you are battling away in novice and bronze two it makes a significant difference to your games. As you can see Wood Nymph has health of two so could be classed as vulnerable and needs someone on the shoulder to protect but the power she brings the tank is the difference between winning and... well not! If you can get one tank heal, one magic ball and a -2 when combined with Mylor that's a big toll on the opposition.

These three cards combined collected me a win ratio in excess of 86% which took me from the lower echelons into Bronze one to collect the rewards on a regular basis. There are obviously weakness' to this combo and it can only be played when Earth is available but for a small investment this team up packs a punch.

I can pick up about 1,500 DEC a season (not including the chest rewards) so played well this combo could pay you back in six weeks!
