A beginner's guide to Splinterlands!

So here we are! We have just bought our Summoner's Spellbook from Splinterlands, and we are ready to take on the world! Or are we? There isn't a whole lot of help, other than basic ability descriptions and a lite tutorial to get you started in game. So here is some advice from another new player, based on my experiences so far!

The first piece of advice that I can give is to watch plenty of YouTube videos and search the web for some beginner deck strategies to get started! This will help you build a core concept of the gameplay! I spent a lot of time reading about the abilities and how some of them work well together. And some counter others well! This helps to build some winning hands, which is the ultimate goal!

If you are having trouble progressing, check out the card rental marketplace! A few decent cards can be cheap to rent for a day or two to get some tournaments in to get extra DEC, or Dark Energy Crystal's. These are one of the main currencies of Splinterlands, and can be useful and several different ways! Another post coming later.on that topic! Cardauctionz.com/market has some tournaments daily for Novice and Bromze leagues players, where they refund your tournament cost if you do not win, just for watching the game play on Twitch afterwards! They also do random draws for 100s of DEC, for which I won 100 DEC from just yesterday!

Building up DEC can help you qualify for a larger SPS, or Splintershards, Airdrop as well! These drop daily for current players, and can be checked and claimed at https://splinterlands.com/?p=sps_management If you transfer DEC or SPS into an external wallet, you will have to sign in through a web wallet to claim any SPS drop that is tied to the external wallet!

Now, back to the game!! If you are like me, you may have dropped in at a time when there are no boosters left for sale on the common market, and don't want to pay 1000s for one on an external market. Don't worry, you can check out cardauctionz.com/market and get cards at a discounted rate from the normal marketplace! Find a Splinter that you like, look up some videos on cheap beginner builds and cheap must buy cards for that splinter, and you will be climbing through the bronze leagues in no time at all! To get into the higher leagues, it will take a little investment, or some good rentals at the least! I have been in for 1 week and worked my way to Silver 3 just before the end of the season!!! Hopefully you guys are having luck as well! Let me know you experiences so far in the comments! And if there are any other great tips or advice for beginners, feel free to share! Until next time guys! Which will probably be right after the new cards drop!!😉😉

I forgot to add.... you can also rent your unused cards out on the market to get some daily DEC added to your account, or just sell them if you would like to get a lump sum at once!
