I wanted to try out the Giant Squid for the first time and after several battles of not using the monster. I saw an opportunity after making my starting squad up to add him as my last selection. The battle had all summoners enabled and my opponent chose the earth Summoner. The rules of the battle had a manna cap of 46 with Rise of the Commons and Armoured up enabled.
Note Rise of the common is a rule in the game that allows only common and rare monsters to be used in battles. Armored up gives extra two armors to each monster.

My front-line being a Level 5 Sea Monster with the healing ability, against a level One Unicorn Mustang with reduced damage from magic attack, i was certain of my line up.

At the beginning of round 2, i had finished off his frontline attack with a blow from my water elemental. This was only the beginning as i lost my Sea Monster in the same round. Fierce battle continued in round 2 as most of my opponents monsters faced their fatal death. My Pirate captain delivered a dying blow to the Wood Nymph. This was elemental to my success in this match as any healing ability would have thwarted all efforts to defeat the enemy. The Giant Squid was more or less a shield to protecting the more formidable aggressive attackers in my team. That was why he was positioned last and yet still able to deliver blows.

The formidable attackers in my team were the Sea Genie and Prismatic Energy who had 3 magic attack blows each. They took down most of the monsters with these attacks targetting the health of monsters directly.

don't use leofinance tag for every single post about splinterlands :)
there are good posts on splinterlands covering it from investing perspective,
but not every single post about it matches leofinance :)
