As the Hive blockchain-powered play-to-earn game Splinterlands, continues to develop and record increasing adoption, Polkastarter Gaming, a popular blockchain gaming project has enlisted the trading card game, among the nominees in its debut GAM3 Awards initiative.

Interestingly, this development is the first annual GAM3 Awards event. The Polkastarter Gaming team seeks to highlight and award the best web3 games using a clear ballot process from well-known industry leaders, game studios, and the community.

In this first edition of the GAM3 Awards showdown, winners will be announced on December 15, 2022. In preparation for the awards and to also select the few play2earn games to be distinguished, among the plethora of blockchain games in existence, Polkastarter published the game nominees a couple of weeks ago for users to cast their votes.

It bears mentioning that they are 32 shortlisted games including Splinterlands and 13 award categories with a prize pool of over $400,000 for the winning games.

The GAM3 Awards categories include Game of the Year, Most Anticipated Game, Best Graphics, Best Action Game, Best Mobile Game, Best Adventure Game, Best Casual Game, Best RPG, Best Shooter Game, Best Strategy Game, Best Multiplayer Game, Best Card Game, and Best Esports Game.

While the majority of the shortlisted blockchain games for voting were only enlisted in only one category, Splinterlands gained nomination in two categories. The two categories where the collectible card game Splinterlands, is added for voting are; Best Card Game and Best Mobile Game.

The competing games in the Best Card Game category are Cards of Ethernity, Gods Unchained, Axie Infinity, and Skyweaver. In the Best Mobile Game category, other games vying for the award alongside Splinterlands include Skyweaver, Blast Royale, Guild of Guardians, and Thetan Arena.

Undoubtedly, Splinterlands deserves to win both awards as it swept the blockchain gaming industry by storm in a short period. The number of players engaging in the game is astounding and the total rewards paid out are also terrific. Overall, the uniqueness and design of the Splinterlands game are one-of-a-kind.

It is worth noting that DappRadar, the number one global non-fungible token (NFT) and decentralized finance (DeFi) Dapp store ranks Splinterlands as the second most adopted blockchain game and the third-largest decentralized application ecosystem.
