Why am I saying this because when I was new to this game, I also had some difficulty in understanding it and doing well in it, but then by slowly continuing with the game, learning from the guidance of some other players and some from my own experience, I started doing well here, then when needed I also purchased some cards and added many to my deck by just playing the game and using the rewards I won properly. I've explained many times how, with just one purchase of a Spellbook, you can acquire the best cards in the game without any additional investment. These cards, while not tradeable, are free to use to improve your game. This post is especially for new players. Imagine how significantly it would impact your win rate if you acquired better, higher-level cards than the basic cards you currently use in your battles.
And I'm not just talking about basic and command cards, I'm talking about rare, epic, and even legendary cards. Yes, all of these are in your hands. Through the glint rewards earned after winning each battle, you can purchase various draws from the reward shop, which give you random but amazing cards. Similarly, there's a guild shop where, again, through merits earned in-game, you can purchase available inventory based on your guild's level. For example, I can purchase gladius cases based on my guild's level. I've won dozens of cards so far. These have improved my in-game strategies, and with better performance, my rewards have also increased.
In the same process, today I again purchased a Gladius case, from which I received these two brand new and powerful rare cards. One is an Earth element melee attacker, and the other is a Water element melee attacker. Both are slightly high mana cost cards, but their attacking power is undoubtedly explosive. Furthermore, one has excellent health, and the other has more armour than decent Health, which gives both cards the ability to stay on the battlefield for longer rounds. And I don't think I need to tell you how important staying on the battlefield is to your victory.
Another great thing is their common Bloodlust ability, which provides them with +1 to all stats after knocking out each card. For example, if a card with melee attack power of 3, health of 12, and speed of 2 knocks out an enemy card, then all its stats will increase by +1, increasing melee attack power to 4 instead of 3, health to 13 instead of 12, and speed to 3 instead of 2. There is no limit to the effect of this ability, meaning every time this card knocks out someone, its stats will increase by +1. Isn't this a superpower?
Including these two cards, I have collected a total of 24 different cards from the Gladiator set so far, and out of these 24 cards, there are 11 cards whose multiple copies I have won and leveled up. Imagine how powerful my fleet will be with cards like these. However, it's important to understand that to use higher-level cards, you also need an Archon of the same level, which you can rent or purchase from the open market. But you can add better cards to your deck without any additional investment, simply by enjoying the game. Although the cards won in the game are soulbound, meaning you can't trade them, you can make them part of your deck and use them freely in battles, which will make your game even more exciting. That's why I say Splinterlands is truly a gem and the most amazing game on Web3!
