I rented one for the first time this season and started testing it. So far, it's performed exceptionally well in almost every battle. I haven't tested many cards from the Conclave Arcana set yet. Still, I rent and test a few different cards each season, which helps me learn important information about the cards, improves my strategies, and gives me a better understanding of which cards would be best for me to purchase based on my strategy. Similarly, this season I've rented a few different cards and tested them in dozens of battles, with the best card so far being the Water element's WARWALL JUGGERNAUT. Because there are several other Level 2 cards in this element, I've rented this card at Level 2 as well. Readers who have followed me since the beginning will know that I prefer the grey card Pallus to be the second in most of my battles lineups, but this time, I tried replacing Pallus with this card, and so far, it's performed quite well.
This is a melee card with decent attack power, boasting impressive stats, whether it's health, armour, or speed. Furthermore, it also comes with the Reach ability, allowing it to comfortably perform from the second position in a lineup; also, its Armoured Strike ability allows it to have another physical attack, equal to its remaining armour. With all these stats and abilities, it looks like a good card for the second spot in moderate to high mana battles.
Let's now see how it performs in a battle.
In the screenshot below, you can see a scene before the start of one of my latest battles. Here, I've used my Water Summoner's Shield ability for the first time. Previously, I'd used Archon's +2 range to two attackers ability almost every time to strengthen my ranged attackers. However, I noticed that ranged attackers, especially Commander Slade, had no effect on them, rendering even my powerful ranged attacks useless. So, this time, instead of strengthening ranged attackers, I decided to give the tank an extra layer of protection and placed my conclave arcana card in the second position, the results of which you'll see later in the battle.
The two screenshots shown below are the effect of two back-to-back attacks by the same card. This is the same card from the Conclave Arcana set, which I have positioned at the second position. As I told you that the Armoured Strike ability of this card also gives it the freedom to attack with the equivalent of its remaining Armour. Since it currently has both its armours, when it is its turn to attack, it first attacks the enemy with the help of its ability and then performs another attack with its melee power, causing the enemy to take double damage. This card's double attack will continue as long as it has both of its armours. If one of its armours takes damage, it will attack with an attack equal to its remaining armour. You can increase the damage dealt by providing it with additional armour, as its abilities are not controlled by its default armour. For example, if this card somehow has 4 armours, then each time it's its turn to attack, it will deal damage equal to 4 armours + 2 melee power to the enemy.
This was an example of proper use of this card's powers. Beyond this ability, this card's health and speed are also quite impressive. Improved speed gives you the opportunity to attack first. Even if your attacks are lethal, the impact of your first attack may knock out the enemy and knock them off the battlefield. And high health gives you the strength to remain on the battlefield for a long time, even while facing enemy attacks. Therefore, this card from the Conclave Arcana is my favourite so far, as it suits my battling style and fits perfectly with my strategies.
But above all, in Splinterlands, you can't win a battle solely on better cards; you have to be both powerful and clever. It's essential to understand the implications of the rules and carefully build your team, taking all factors into account. As you finesse your strategies with better cards, you'll find Splinterlands is an ocean of rewards and a lot of fun. The deeper you delve, the more you'll benefit from it.🔥
