Namaste to all warriors of Splinterlands!

In this week's 🌟Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge🌟, we're going to talk about the inaugural Land Cards Edition. This will be a major expansion to Lands gameplay that introduces new mechanics, new card types, and new resource sinks for the ecosystem. 🔥

Because the game is called Splinterlands, it's like a universe of its own. In Lore, you can read stories about the origins and evolution of each card: how Splinterlands came to be, how it all began, how kingdoms were formed across different lands, and how new warriors joined them, mastering new and better powers. Stories about their friendships, their feuds, their mentors, their disciples, relationships, fights, celebrations, and more come from every corner of Splinterlands. Now, with the Land Cards Edition, you'll see new types of cards, mechanics, and resources added to this ecosystem.

I've seen the land bank of Splinterlands, but I don't personally own any land there. but now with this new update I'll probably be purchasing some land soon because this edition includes cards made directly from the land resource, as well as cards that require a new resource, cinder, which is created by burning cards. We'll see cards specifically designed for land use, along with new land-only abilities that impact production, efficiency, and worker management, and a new treasure-discovery mechanic: Labour's Luck. To know more about this new Land Cards addition, you can read their announcement blog.

This will add another great element to the land gameplay and strengthen the Splinterlands economy and tokens. Just like units in battles, land cards will also have rarities of Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. There is a limit of 125,000 land cards that can be mined. The rarity distribution will be 100,000 Common, 18,000 Rare, 6,000 Epic, and 1,000 Legendary. It's worth noting that these cards are for the field, not the battlefield, so they won't have stats but rather abilities based on levels. Each card's max level ability will also include a Labor's Luck ability that provides a chance to discover a Gold Foil, Gold Foil Arcane, Black Foil, or Black Foil Arcane land card during the plot harvest.

Although you will get complete information related to this in the pinned blog of Splinterlands Community and I have also given the link of that post above but for the sake of your understanding I am showing you a card for example, this is a rare card of Earth element and as I said above you can see these cards are not for fighting on the battle field but for working on your land field and mining minerals, grains and other rewards, that is why instead of having any stats it has abilities. Well, I don't know much about it and I don't even have any land right now, but I feel that this labor's luck ability should not have been only for top level cards, but maybe for all cards from second or third level, in which you could have given 10-15-20 etc. percent probability with conditions, lets say, you could have kept the chances of discovering Gold Foil, Gold Foil Arcane, Black Foil or Black Foil Arcane land card low with the labor's luck ability of level 3 card and could have kept the chances of discovering these premium cards comparatively a little higher with the labor's luck ability of top level card.

My Thoughts

The new land-specific cards are a unique and exciting addition to the Splinterlands land gameplay. The card designs are great, perfectly conveying the vibes of a field rather than a battlefield. This addition adds a new dimension to the world of Splinterlands. With this new mechanic, collectable cards can be created that have utility in the game, which will eventually boost the game's economy. I myself will be buying land in Splinterlands very soon. The Splinterlands dev team has done a truly outstanding job this year. All these new developments and the ever-growing community show that the future of our Splinterlands is bright.🔥
