Since I had completely stopped purchasing Common and Rare draws for the past 3–4 seasons, I wasn't acquiring any cards of these rarities; consequently, the upgrading of these cards—a crucial process—was also not taking place. Now, in this very season, I purchased 10 Common and 10 Rare draws, after which I accumulated enough copies of certain cards from both these rarities to combine them and advance them to the next level. Among these is a Common card named Magmaforged—a low-Mana-cost, ranged attacker card belonging to the Fire element.
At Level 1, it possessed 1 Ranged Attack power, 4 Health, and an impressive Speed of 3. In terms of speed, this card was already as fast as any above-average card; furthermore, when evaluated alongside its Mana cost, its Health was also quite decent. Now, after combining 5 copies of this card, its Speed has received a +1 boost, making it even faster. Look, I won't exaggerate, but the truth is that this card can prove extremely useful to me in low-Mana battles. This is because, in such battles, the cards on both sides are largely basic in nature—meaning their Health stats aren't particularly high—so having Speed on your side can give you a distinct edge right from the very start of the game. For this reason, I am satisfied with this upgrade to a considerable extent.

The second card is the Pixie-knife Hurler from the Life Element. This is a Rare card belonging to the Ulund bloodline, and given its substantial Mana cost, it cannot be viewed solely from the perspective of low-Mana battles. Initially, at Level 1, this card possessed 2 Ranged Attack power, 2 Armor, 6 Health, and 2 Speed; it also featured the "Close Range" ability, which grants the card the freedom to launch attacks even when positioned at the very front of the lineup. Now, by combining five copies of this card, its stats have been significantly enhanced: firstly, it has gained +1 Speed; and secondly, another fantastic feature has been added—the "Dodge" ability—which gives the card a 25% chance to evade physical attacks. This is truly a valuable ability that, in a sense, elevates the card's overall strength to a higher tier. After all, being positioned at the very front of the lineup means being directly in the enemy's crosshairs; in such scenarios, you typically require superior Health and Armor, making abilities like this a highly effective shortcut. Furthermore, since this card belongs to the Ulund bloodline, its power can be further amplified by utilizing it in conjunction with its corresponding Archon and other allied cards. I certainly intend to devise a new strategy centered around this card—and I will be sure to share it with you.

The third card I have leveled up so far is the Gravebrand Warlock. This is a Rare card of the Death element that boasts an impressive Magic Attack power of 3 right from Level 1. However, its health is quite low, making it a prime target for enemy cards possessing the "Opportunity" ability. Furthermore, its extremely slow speed often results in it being knocked out before it even gets a chance to perform an attack. For these reasons, I have rarely used this card in battles until now. However, with its recent upgrade to Level 2, it has gained a powerful new ability called "Swiftness." The Swiftness ability directly increases the speed of all allied cards by +1. Consequently, this ability not only doubles this card's own speed but also boosts the speed of every other card in the team—without exception—by +1. As a result, I now feel I can utilize this card with much greater confidence. Even if—despite the increased speed of 2—this card doesn't survive for many rounds (since a speed of 2 isn't exactly considered fast), the fact that it boosts the speed of the entire team ensures that all my attackers will be able to perform at their absolute best. Therefore, rather than relying solely on this single card, utilizing it strategically to bolster the strength of the entire team can yield significant advantages. How well this plan actually works will be reflected in my future battles—something I will certainly keep you updated on in my upcoming posts.

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
