Splinterlands: When the ruleset includes Equalizer, Captain Frankie dominates!🔥

in Splinterlands • yesterday

When I first encountered Captain Frankie, I was completely astonished; the sheer impact of his "Inspire" ability—which triggers a chain reaction in conjunction with his supported Bloodline cards—is truly a sight to behold in battle. However, I soon realised that while he is indeed an Archon, in the ever-changing meta of Splinterlands, no single card can ever remain the most powerful indefinitely. This is precisely why the competitive landscape here remains constant, compelling you to adapt your strategies to suit the specific conditions of each distinct season. Consequently, now that I possess a more diverse roster of Archons, rather than relying blindly on any single one, I make my selection based on my own strategic judgment—taking into account the specific rulesets, mana cap, and my opponent's battle history.

Upon observing the "Equalizer" ruleset for this particular battle, two Archons immediately came to mind: one from the Water Element, which would facilitate the creation of a magic-dominated team; and the other—Captain Frankie from the Life Element—which would enable a melee-centric team composition. Since my opponent's battle history revealed a heavy reliance on ranged and magic attackers—and given that I currently lack sufficiently strong cards to effectively counter magic—I ultimately chose Captain Frankie. My reasoning was twofold: firstly, his inherent abilities empower allied melee attackers to a degree that defies imagination; and secondly, the "Equalizer" ruleset in this battle would synchronise the health of all my team's melee attackers to match that of the card with the highest health—thereby transforming Captain Frankie's already formidable team into an absolutely unstoppable force.

Furthermore, I could have granted both the Piercing and True Strike abilities to any two cards on the team. This is precisely the one shortcoming that the heaviest attackers often face: their attacks can be blocked—and what happens if the enemy possesses armour? Well, Captain Frankie not only bestows unimaginable power upon allied melee cards, but also grants the attacks of any two of the most lethal cards the True Strike ability, along with the power to pierce through any armour and inflict excess damage.

So, the reason for choosing Captain Frankie was clear: although there were a total of four elements available for this battle—including the Dragon—and I possessed other Archons, the screenshot above clearly showcases the formidable presence of my team. While my opponent had indeed included a card with an Inspire ability in their lineup, they had only one such card, whereas my team boasted a total of five. Consequently, winning this battle proved to be both easy and enjoyable; it is truly entertaining to witness the sheer impact of these massive attacks—especially when an enemy, fully clad in armour, gets knocked out by a single strike of yours.🔥

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
