Namaste to all warriors of Splinterlands!

Not All Heroes Wear Capes! There are many heroes in Splinterlands as well that aren't talked about much or are less well-known, but that doesn't diminish their value. Players who understand their importance know how certain cards perform exceptionally well in almost every battle situation. In this week's 🌟Community Engagement Challenge🌟, we're going to talk about such heroes, so the outcome of this challenge will not only be fun but will also expose us all to new, different, and great cards. So let's get started!🔥

For the challenge, I've chosen the Rebellion Grey card Pallus and Halfling Refugee, in which Pallus was the first card I purchased in Splinterlands, and since then, it's been a part of my deck and almost every battle I play. In this blog, I'll explain why I purchased this card and its benefits.

When I started playing Splinterlands, I initially spent a few weeks playing with the base cards to understand the technicalities of the game, and then, instead of purchasing cards directly, I adopted a strategy of renting different cards and testing them out. Renting cards is obviously much cheaper than purchasing them, so this strategy of renting and practising allowed me to gather key information about different cards and understand which ones best suited my battle style. And that's how I learned that neutral cards can be summoned by summoners of any element, so to build the most useful team at a low cost, the deck must also have some grey cards. Then I tested cards like Venka the Vile, Grimbardun Fighter, Pallus, Nimbledook Ranger, and Halfling Refugee among the grey cards, after which Pallus's excellent performance in almost every battle convinced me to purchase this card and include it in my deck.

I rarely see players play or talk about this card, but for me, it's a staple in almost every battle. Costing 8 mana, it boasts 1 armour, 7 health, and 3 speed, along with 3 melee attack power, making it a great tank. But what makes it even more amazing are its abilities: Reach enables it to attack from another position, Flying gives it the power to evade physical attacks by 25%, and Kindred Spirit gives adjacent cards the power to True Strike. And guess what? I only paid $1.99 for it. Or you can even skip paying that much and rent it and test your strategies with it until you're amazed by its performance. Given my knowledge of the game, I'm confident you'll love this card.

Above, I have listed the stats for the basic level one card, which are impressive in themselves. Now, if you upgrade this card to its top level, it'll transform into one of the deadliest. Levelling up doesn't affect the mana cost, but all other stats and abilities improve. For example, at the top level, this card offers 10 health, 3 speed, and an ultimate 5 melee attack power, along with 1 armour. Imagine the massive damage a 5 melee attack with 3 speed can inflict on the enemy camp, while you also have a whopping 10 health and 1 armour to protect you. In addition to the existing Reach, Flying, and Kindred Spirit abilities, you also have a new Lookout ability that reduces damage to adjacent units by 1 from attackers with Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity abilities, and provides up to 50% protection against Ambush attacks.

I've also had several battles with Halfing Refugee, and it performs exceptionally well as a tank, especially in low-mana battles. I currently have a level one card, but you'll be amazed by the stats of its top-level card. Costing just one mana, it boasts a massive 5 melee attack power, 8 health, and 3 speed, along with Weary and Heal abilities. This card will become your deck's top choice in low-mana battle conditions, and if you utilise its abilities correctly, it will deliver a powerful blow to your enemy.

In my opinion, these two cards should be in every player's deck. The best part is that they can be summoned with summoners of any element, making them very easy to use, and you always have more card options unless a specific ruleset allows you to use neutral cards. Beyond that, these cards provide excellent frontline defence in all situations, and their abilities strengthen not only them but also their adjacent cards in some way, which is a great thing from the entire team's perspective.

So these two, and especially Pallus, are my heroes, the ones that no one talks about, but this one card always plays a crucial role in most of my victories. So I highly recommend you all try this card, whether it's rented or purchased directly, as it's incredibly cheap, and see how it adds a new spark to your old, regular strategy.🔥
