How I discovered Splinterlands!

Although I don't remember exactly, I followed his advice in mid-2024, i.e. about a year after joining Hive, and created a free account on Splinterlands and played some battles and they were definitely a lot of fun, but it is also true that in the beginning, seeing that ocean of in-game knowledge was quite intimidating. Because there were so many cards, rarities, abilities, stats, rule sets, and combinations of them etc., it was mind-boggling. But this is what makes this game challenging and exciting, after which one feels even more inclined to become better at it.I will not lie here at all. My first and best mentor here @alokkumar121 told me about this game when I joined this platform, that is in mid-2023, and whenever we talked about growing here, he always advised me to be consistent here, and connect with other users, as well as join Splinterlands. And I always used to say that bhai, I have seen your blogs, this is a boring card game, I don't see anything like real action in it, and if I am not even able to think about it, then I will not be able to enjoy it at all. But he always used to say that I don't know bhai, I enjoy it a lot, so I would say play it once and then decide because it is fun.

My first card or most memorable early battle!

Well, I remember in the beginning I made a strategy to understand all the elements one by one; however, it didn't work out, as this game is so versatile and unpredictable so you have no control over choosing the same element every time. So even though I started with melee attackers with Tarsa in the Fire element in my first battle, but I did keep changing the elements to test different cards and combinations.
And during all that, while practicing in the Earth element, I cannot say for sure, but probably Lord Thanalor and Zebajin were the first cards that I rented. Because instead of buying cards directly, I found it a better strategy to rent them and test them in every possible condition and with the same Lord Thanalor and Zebajin, I won many great battles including this one.

The evolution of my strategy from my beginnings!

For the first few weeks, instead of directly buying the spellbook, I just enjoyed the free battles and tried to understand the game a bit. Then after some time, after getting the basic knowledge of the game and the interest in it, I dived into the ocean of rewards in this game with the spellbook and since then, there have been very rare days when I have not played this game at all.
Initially, I started by understanding each element and also rented cards instead of buying them directly and tested their properties in different conditions and in this way I was able to decide which cards best suit my battle style. Since the gray common cards could be used with any element, I decided to first search for some gray cards, and during that time, I found Pallus cards, which, as per my strategy, I first rented and tested multiple times and then bought and added to my deck. Later, I updated it and even today Pallus is usually in the second spot in my lineup because he has reach, flying, and kindred spirit abilities, I find him to be a perfect all-rounder card. Earlier I used to put a non-attack card in the first spot which had the best health so that it could provide a good cover to the rest of the team, but with progressing in the game and buying new cards, now I mostly put a heavy melee attacker in the first spot who has good health and shields.
I did not pay much attention to rule sets, but with time I have understood that understanding rule sets properly and choosing the right team is an important process that can ensure your victory in any battle. This means that you do not lose a battle every time just because you do not have good cards in your deck, but you lose because you made a team without understanding the rule set and made a team with melee cards from Lettuce in Briar Patch rule set, or you chose cards with low health in Noxious Fumes rule set, then in such a situation how can you blame the cards for losing the battle when you have made the wrong selection. That is why knowing and understanding rule sets is so important.

My goals in the game now!

Currently, I am a part of the Silver League, so first of all my goal from the game point of view is to continuously improve my ranking and from here reach the Gold League and hold my position there because that is also an important and challenging task.

Apart from this, till now I have staked 3229 SPS tokens, which I want to increase to 11000 this year and for that I am setting aside some funds and have also placed SPS buy orders at different levels. So I am hoping that in the next few weeks, with the execution of those orders and my increasing in-game rewards, my SPS stakes will also increase and I will be able to achieve this goal of mine. Also, I have liked some cards which I have rented and tested multiple times, and now I am ready to make them part of my deck, so hopefully, with all this growth and my in-game rewards, I will be able to buy those cards in the near future.
