One unique feature of the Splinterlands game is its improving dynamics. Thanks to the community-centered decision-making protocol that allows users and stakeholders to give feedback, and even push for gaming improvements through proposals. The SPlinterlands ranked battle overhaul and revamp as announced is already live and it is interesting to see the tweaks in the gameplay mode of the game.
The Glint Token is the newly added reward system for Splinterlands battle as the revamp went live on Tuesday 2nd April. Players now earn Glint Tokens instead of Reward Points for each ranked battle win.
The Glint token will be non-transferrable, and the formula for earning Glint tokens from ranked battle wins will be very similar to the current formula for earning Reward Points, which is primarily based on the player's current rating and then adjusted based on various modifiers and bonuses such as the type of cards used in the battle, guild building level, and staked SPS balance, among other things. - source
Also, it was stated that winners of Modern format battles will receive 50% more Glint than winners of Wild format battles (assuming the same rating and other modifiers) to encourage more players to play in that format. I play modern-format battles. I rarely play the wild format, hence, glad to stand a chance of earning more Glint.
Aside from rewards, a new battle ruelset was added - Fab Four which allows Up to four Units to be used in battle. This is the first time I am drawing this ruleset and it's interesting as we can have more tweaks to limit a player's number of monster cards field for battle. It helps us improve our gaming strategy and gives more excitement/ suspense to the game.
In this battle, I drew a 30 manna cost cap battle with the Fab Four Ruleset. For me, it was time to go for the best summoner and monsters in my deck. I would have to use units I'm sure of their delivery because I would not want a loss in my first play of the ruleset.
I went for Underboss Fabino summoner. It's inspire and poison ability is what makes me love this summoner. However, I preferred to go for the "inspire" ability this time since I needed to make a solid attack. My combo of Underboss Fabino summoner and Grund has become a sure deal for battle wins. I summoned Grund (10), Bramble Pixie (7), Mad Ogre Anarchist (6), and Lurking Puffer (2) for the battle. Ogre Anarchist with the Opportunity ability and Lurking Puffer with the Corrosive Ward ability plus low manna cost are my latest discoveries. In the enemy team, I saw the dreaded Tenyll sticker but thanks to Lurking Puffer that helped to disarm it. Let's see screenshots on how the short battle went.
Grund made the first strike of the battle and damaged the lead monster unit in the enemy team. By the end of the first round, two of the monster units fielded by the enemy team were down, totally destroyed.
Tenyll Striker had to struggle alone in the second round of the battle but can it face the fierce Grund? Certainly No! We damaged it. It was a flawless win at the end of the second round.
The Fab Four battle is interesting and I think I know what to do anytime in the future I draw such a ruleset. The important thing is to have a good attack and defense. Drawing the best set of cards is the deal since you may not know what the enemy team would look like.
It is more interesting to win my first GLINT TOKENS. Six (6) Glint Tokens were added to my wallet and I think this is more motivation to play more battles. I am glad that I can spend my Glint token in the new Reward Shop.
If you're not playing playing Splinterlands battles, it's time to start. The new Glint Reward system is fair enough even for low league players. Glint reward is available for the Bronze league. Already, the SPlinterlands team is considering increasing Glint earnings for battle wins across the board pending some more data.
