Hey there Splinterlands Summoners,
I switched to the new Splinterlands desktop user interface on my phone and wow!!! It completely changed how I see and play the game!!!!!. This new mode feels smoother, faster and of course gives much wider view of the battlefield making interactions with the app supper easy! From the summoning of monsters to watching the battle unfold from one round till the very end. It has been very refreshing and worth sharing this experience with my fellow summoners in this week’s Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. So, I decided to give it a test try and I couldn’t keep quiet about it.
A Brand-New Look and Feel
For those of us who haven’t noticed yet, the new interface feels just exactly like battling it out on the Desktop. From battle preparations to rulesets, summoning of monsters till game over and even the display of match history looks much sharper and more detailed than it used to be. It feels just playing on PC.
The best part? It’s still smooth and fully functional on phone for easy access everywhere anytime. I can still scroll, drag cards for better positioning, and view stats easily. Absolutely no lag, and clunky transitions.
When I checked my recent matches, everything displayed neatly. The rating changes, rounds, and team compositions were all visible at a glance. It is such a small thing, but for someone who is a daily player, it makes a very big difference.
It helps in analyzing matches so a player can easily strategize and react faster since all the needed information are available at a go and at the players disposals. So before a player gets into the next match he is fully prepared for battle.
🧠 The Tech Behind It
I learned this cool upgrade is part of the ongoing Tech Modernization Project by the Splinterlands tech team after a dig dive into the brain behind. There has been gradual improvement over time when it comes to Splinterlands dApps user interface across every device aiming at making user experience different and one of the best from other web3 games. Now its more unified.
Way back around April 2024, the old mobile version was officially brought down. And ever since then, all game play have moved onto the usual browser mode. And what we have here today is a gradual move that started way back about several months of hard work of updates and upgrades. And here we are playing the desktop version on mobile.
Trying it out
I think it’s a good idea to experiment with of my recent matches. We can draw a better conclusion from there and evidence for the newbie. This was Battle Setup Standard Ruleset and a Mana Cap of 35. And as usual, just how we do it all the time, lets take a look at how it all went down.

As usual we are on the mobile app enjoying desktop mode. Waiting for an opponent to clash head to head with.

Found a match with the stated Ruleset and Mana Cap

The selection of team Archon with Monsters is next as you can see, functionality just as desktop.
🧙♂️ My Team Line-Up
Archon : Barthalamas
#New-Beluroc Aegis ; My frontline tank built to absorb punishment with solid defense delivering a -1 damage of Melee attack.
#Frankarsgard ; A dependable melee fighter with balanced stats and good staying power to step up in time of New Beluroc Aegis down fall.
#Vengeful-Monk; I placed this one in mid-position to deal consistent damage. Very effective for the opportunity ability. and benefit from protection up-front.
#Ash-Archer ; My backline ranged attacker, perfect for cleaning up as the frontlines weaken a bulls eye monster for perfect strike. Never misses a shot.
Opponent’s Line-Up
Archon: Marlai Singariel
- #New-Beluroc Aegis
- #Great-Bear Druid
- #Spitting-Camel
- #Water-Logged Wizard

Such an interesting line up it was cause both of us started with New Beluroc Aegis positioned in the front roll to act as tanks. But the backing vocalists made the difference. As you can see, all the selection was done on the mobile phone yet it was as smooth as smooth can be.
Right from round, both tanks collided fiercely. The fight looked even from the strat but my archon added a special ability that made another difference. There is +1 speed to all monster units. This gave speed advantage to my team. The idea was let Beluroc Aegis soak up early hits while Frankarsgard step up to take his position after a fall and Vengeful Mon do the damage to the weaker ones. And then Ash Archer delivering perfect steady ranged damage from the back.

And by the time we entered into some few rounds, victory was on my side. It was a done deal. Watching all tthis unfold on mobile with just a perfect view was something cool.
