A Few Wins, Losses… and a Weekend Battle Plan

in Splinterlands3 days ago

Lately, of course I’ve continued testing the waters in Splinterlands, just a few casual battles here and there to keep the game sharp in my mind. What surprised me was how clearly those short sessions exposed serious gaps in my gameplay, I used to think it was just about the quality of cards but I have had instances where by I and an opponent will be using the same cards but due to placement(I believe) I still lose . After realising i had a couple of satisfying wins that came simply from reading applying my own rulesets well, following strictly what was I learnt in the tutorials will definitely not get me far
In one battle, I went for a different approach and I put my strongest magic unit at the last position and could take more damage and lasted longer. These tiny adjustments reminded me that Splinterlands isn’t just about having strong cards, it’s about recognizing patterns and reacting strategically.

But the game wasn’t going to let me escape without a lesson. I took two losses, and both were the kind that annoy you not because you were outplayed, but because you clearly lacked the right cards. One match I lost with the opponent having just one health left. The second loss would have swung in my favor if I owned a stronger opportunity monster stringer firepower. These losses were not the kind that made you want to quit, but the kind that points out exactly what you must improve, if you want to study your losses, that is.
Because of that, I’ve decided not to waste my gameplay energy recklessly during the week. The weekend gives more space to think, test, and fight battles without rushing. With more time and a calmer mindset, I can push harder and maximize the rewards. Midweek battles feel like warmups, cos i usually blitz throught the matches, weekends feel like tournaments at least for me.

And of course I’d be looking to channel all my earnings I’ve been making from Ecency posts,to Splinterlands, I could invest them back into the game by buying the exact cards my lineup is missing, or maybe staking more SPS so that my rewards grow consistently and maybe one day i’d save enough to buy the spell book. Now the question for me is no longer whether to invest, but how consistently I want to do it. And honestly, I’m leaning toward doing it properly this time.
