Hey Splinterlands crew, as a newbie who jumped in fully last November (2025), I've been grinding hard and wanted to share my quick progress report to inspire you all! π₯
Splinterlands is no walk in the park, but that's what amps up the excitement.A winning strategy weighs stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and beyond. That's why you must factor them all into your deck building. Toss in strong cards to boost your setups, and push hard to rack up as many victories as possible! π₯
My Early Grind
I Completed the Campaign mode right away to unlock those essential Foundation cards. Dove straight into Foundation (Frontier) Ranked league, battling my way up to Gold 2 league in just 3months . Used that time to farm tons of units and upgrade them via combining for better stats and killer abilities.
Before I continue,playing splinterlands has made me strong, bold and fearless,why do I say this? As a newbie,I just concentrated on foundation doing my thing,but I summoned courage and I told myself why not try Modern ranked league! And today as I typed I have gotten some good amount of GLINTS in just few days into the current season.
ACHIEVEMENTS
I must say I have achieved a lot as newbie.It was here i got the following;
Purchased The SPELLBOOK,
Completed the chapter one or book one of the campaign.
Upgraded a lot of my foundation cards ( Archon,rare, legendary, water, death,earth and natural cards) to level 2&3 respectively.
Bought some foundation, excalation and arcana cards.
Bought just one pack of the Excalation Mini-set packs π ( It has been a blessing during battles)
Being able to compete in the MODERN RANKED. with lots of victories.
MY DECKS
Here are some of the cards I have gotten and purchased since I started playing splinterlands.As a reminder and no matter what,whether you are a veteran or newbie you must spend in splinterlands if you want the best and want to keep raking in the victories and going far in the various LEADERBOARDS
MY WATER ELEMENTS: Here my favorite Archon is MARLAI SINGARIEL and it is at level 2. I use the water elements a lot during battles, because majority of the monsters have Magic attack.And my two most formidable units are SALTWATER MAGE and MYSTIC SCALEWEAVER while I bought;
SUGARBLADE,TORRENT SNIPPER and BLUE WRYM TRAVESTY
MY EARTH ELEMENTS.Here my favorite Archon is AURELIA and she is at level 3.In this deck I have 3 numbers of EXCALATION UNITS and they are; EMPUSAN DARKGUARD, LIVING BERM and FERMOOR WOOD TROLL.They all have high mana cost and fairly high health.They would be useful in battles as I level them up.
MY DEATH ELEMENTS My favorite Archon is TALGRIMORE and I have upgraded this unit to level 3,It gives +1 health to all units at the start of battle.
The cards I bought here are; one foundation card which is LITTLE SISTER and an Excalation unit named MAGNIFICENT MOLLUSK, though still at level one but inherently brutal!!!.
MY NEUTRAL ELEMENTS They are mostly summoned to battle by virtually all the archon except the dragon.I have just one EXCALATION UNIT which is a ranked attack unit named STEELSHIELD ARBALEST just in level1,but handful in battle and I bought two neutral units; GRIMBARDUN FIGHTER and NIMBLEDOOK RANGERS both are of level 3.
when I later upgrade them,they would be terror in battles.
MY LIFE ELEMENTS
I hardly use my life elements,the Archon is INCESSANT SAGE and it is currently at level two I use it depending on the rulesets of the battle.The good thing I like about this archon is the ability of giving all units +1 armor before battle.
MY FIRE ELEMENTS Just like my life,I hardly use the fire elements in battles except when the rules says so.And the Archon here is BATHALAMAS.What gives me joy here is my FRANKARSGARD in the black foil mode,I got it during the entry reward.

My opponent has the almighty Commander Slade, but my choice of deck and positioning won it for me.
RE-ENFORCEMENT
Before the end of this current season,I want to add the following cards to my deck and they are;
SHOCK TROOPER
COMMANDER SLADE
and
SKRAG THE GNAW
When they finally come in,they would certainly boost my deck and I know I would continue to win more battles.
