Ecency is...

a gateway.

As mentioned in the title, #Ecency is a gateway.
What do I actually mean by this?

What is it a gateway to?
In simple terms, Ecency is a gateway to

microblogging via #waves
decentralized, user owned and monetised content
your Hive account
fund swaps on Hive
paid like/upvote

And sooo much more. These are, in my opinion, the main areas where Ecency exceeds many of its competitors.

Microblogging

Through the Ecency app, available for both Android and iOS, microblogging has been made available to all.

Go to the highlighted menu, and you're ready to go!

When you are there, you can create a post by typing in your post at the very top:

Or you can simply hit the pencil icon at the bottom (this is especially useful if you have scrolled down) and the post creation popup will appear

Onboarding through Ecency

The onboarding is made easy, and free (if you are not too private). The normal price of creating a new Hive account varies depending on how you create it. The free version is a great way to get going on Ecency and enables all features available in the app.

Simply just choose your username, provide an e-mail and (if applicable) the username of the peraon who referred you.

Once that is done, you then have access to all that Ecency (and Hive in general) has to offer.

Get rewarded (paid) for your quality content

Join Ecency, engage with others and watch your account grow.
Once you have grown enough, either via creating content or funding your wallet and powering up (staking) your account/wallet you can even get rewarded by upvoting other posts.
Be careful not to go too crazy with that or the power you have will shrink. Your voting power restore itself over time, so you can throw upvotes again.

The bigger the weight, the more power it uses for an upvote.

Create bonds

When you're at it, create bonds with others and your account can grow even faster! 👏🏼

You can also participate in competitions with specific hashtags, such as #ecencycontest, #archon, #atx (one of my personal favourites), #eds, #edsd, #spi (this one is very interesting), #silvergoldstackers and many, many more.

Gaming on Hive is also possible.
