My phone buzzed with a message—from myself, ten years in the future.
“I am your future self. You must avoid a tragedy. Follow my instructions.”
Confused and skeptical, I decided to read the rest of the message. “You must spend more time with your friends and family. Don't worry about money.”
I was expecting investment advice, a financial plan, or something like that, but instead, I was receiving warnings about what really mattered in life.
I looked around me: it was chaos, with papers, bills, and work reminders everywhere. My life had revolved around my career for a long time.
It could be a bad joke, I thought. But as the monotonous days passed, I decided to take action. I contacted my friends, those I hadn't seen in months. I wanted to see them immediately.
Even with the workload I had on my plate, I went out with my friends and put my worries aside. I started having dinner with my family, enjoying long conversations, and remembering what had been important in my life.
One day, while enjoying a sunny afternoon with my friends in the park, my phone vibrated again. It was another message... from the same number. It said, “Well done.” I smiled, revealing a simple and powerful truth: happiness was not a matter of money, but of valuing every moment.
