En el arte como en el amor, no hay fórmula exacta, cada quien tiene la suya sólo hay que dejar buscar y perseguir. Esto se trata de respirar, sentir y manifestar con tu talento, tu ser. Si hace 7 años atrás me hubieses dicho que hoy estaría pintando tributos de amor jamás te habría creído, pues eran dos temas impensables para mi. ¿Pintar? para nada, había mucho dolor al hacerlo ¿y sobre el amor? mucho menos pues es recién empiezo a darle importancia y verbalizar sobre él de manera consciente.
In art as in love, there is no exact formula, everybody has an own one, you just have to let search and pursue. This is about breathing, feeling and manifesting your talent, your being. If you had told me 7 years ago that today I would be painting love tributes I would have never believed you, because those were two unthinkable subjects for me. Painting? not at all, there was a lot of pain in doing it, and about love? No way, because I have just started to give it importance and to verbalize about it in a conscious way.
El amor y el arte, al sentirlos ya no hay vuelta atrás, no sabes cuando empezó, te das cuenta cuando ya lo estas viviendo y contando la experiencia. Ambos se nutren de los detalles, de tu objeto o persona de interés, pero la base va en la necesidad de expresar, compartir, el querer sentirse y estar bien.
Love and art, when you feel them there is no turning back, you don't know when it started, you realize it when you are already living it and telling the experience. Both are nourished by details, by your object or person of interest, but the base is the need to express, to share, to want to feel and be well.
Yo empecé a pintar porque las letras se fueron, escribir no era suficiente ¿te ha pasado? Las tazas de café fueron mis inicios, luego figurines que definitivamente tienen mucho de mi, mis amigas y seres queridos, ahora la exploración por practicar con distintos elementos me ha llevado a manifestar y ver otra visión del amor. Empezando por el propio, es como si toda mi autoestima se volcara en mi creatividad, lápices y pinceles.
I started painting because letters were gone, writing was not enough, has it ever happened to you? Coffee cups were my beginnings, then figurines that definitely have a lot of me, my friends and loved ones, now the exploration to practice with different elements has led me to manifest and see another vision of love. Starting with my own, it's as if all my self-esteem was poured into my creativity, pencils and brushes.
Antes, al hablar de estos temas de manera firme te decía: yo no sé lo que quiero pero definitivamente sé lo que no quiero, de manera absolutista y autoritaria. Ahora, ahora puedo decirte que mucho de eso cambió, me siento más cómoda al respecto, entiendo que ambos, el amor y el arte, son procesos de aprendizaje y negociación constante con un fin en común, ya sabrán los involucrados cuál será.
Before, I used to talk about these issues in a firm way: I don't know what I want but I definitely know what I don't want, in an absolutist and authoritarian way. Now, I can tell you that much of that has changed. I feel more comfortable about it, I understand that both love and art are processes of learning and constant negotiation with a common goal, and those involved will know what it will be.
Pero te mentiría al decirte que no hay temor en este camino que estoy atravesando, pero me gusta, es una sensación de bienestar nueva ¿qué el arte me ha hecho sentir más completa? Totalmente ¿Qué aceptar, demostrar el amor y desenfreno hacia él me ha liberado de alguna forma? Pues no hay duda. Ahora entiendo esa frase de Frida: “Quédate con quien te mire como si fueras magia”. Yo te digo con quien lo haga como si fueses arte, pero empieza por ti, que ames con locura lo que ves en el espejo. Somos lienzo para ser la mejor obra de arte de nuestra vida.
But I would be lying to tell you that there is no fear in this path I'm going through, but I like it, it's a new sense of well being: that art has made me feel more complete? Totally. What accepting, showing love and unbridled love for it has liberated me in some way? Well, there is no doubt about it. Now I understand that phrase of Frida: "Stay with the one who looks at you as if you were magic". I say stay with the one who does it as if you were art, but it starts with you, that you love madly what you see in the mirror. We are canvas to be the best work of art of our life.
