¡Un gran saludo a todos! Un equipo de músicos interesados en mantenernos comunicados con el mundo acaba de llegar a la plataforma Hive. Estamos preparados para generar conocimiento y mostrar las cosas que hicimos y que seguiremos haciendo a la vez que nos volvemos ser partícipes en las nuevas tecnologías.
Greetings to everyone! A team of musicians interested in keeping in touch with the world have just arrived at Hive platform. We are prepared to generate knowledge and to show the things we’ve done as well as those we’re gonna still do, as we take part in the new technologies.
Se preguntarán, ¿y este par qué tiene por compartir a esta plataforma? Pues nos dedicaremos a profundizar en distintos temas relacionados a nuestras especialidades, pero vamos a ir más allá de la música académica (popularmente conocida como “clásica”) para vincular con múltiples manifestaciones artísticas (no solamente musicales).
Maybe you’ll be wondering: what do these guys have to share here? Well, we’re gonna get deep in many subjects related to our specialties. However, we’re getting beyond the western classical music or academic music, to link with numerous artistic manifestations (not just music).
¿Quiénes son Les Musiciens (@archivero)? | Who are Les Musiciens?
Nosotros somos Abraham Urdaneta (compositor) y Kevin Rodríguez Da Silva (director orquestal), músicos venezolanos dispuestos a difundir información acerca de la música y otros saberes. La vida permitió que coincidiéramos durante nuestros estudios de licenciatura, desde ese entonces hemos estrechado nuestros lazos de amistad y trabajado en conjunto para sacar muchos proyectos musicales adelante. Les contaremos un poco más de nosotros por separado:
We are Abraham Urdaneta (composer) and Kevin Rodríguez Da Silva (conductor), venezuelan musicians ready to spread information about music and other knowledges. Life allowed us to meet each other when we were pursuing undergraduate studies. Since then, we have strengthened our bonds of friendship as we have worked together to carry out many musical projects. Now, a little bit of each of us:

Todo comenzó en 1996, cuando nací en la ciudad de Caracas, hijo de padre músico y madre educadora (aunque nunca ejerció la docencia en el aula). Diez años más tarde, por iniciativa de mi mamá, entré a un coro de El Sistema Nacional de Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles de Venezuela. Estuve ahí mucho tiempo, aprendiendo de técnica vocal con los maestros de canto del Núcleo de Los Teques (Samia Ibrahim y Raúl López), hasta que conocí un instrumento nuevo con el que expresarme: la flauta.
All started in 1996, when I was born at Caracas (Venezuela), son of a musician dad and a teacher mom (she never taught in a classroom, though). Ten years later, on the initiative of my mom, I entered in a chorus of El Sistema Nacional de Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles de Venezuela. I stayed there for a long time, learning about singing with the vocal coaches from the Nucleo Los Teques (Samia Ibrahim and Raul Lopez), until I met a new instrument with which express myself: the flute.
Después de haberme preparado con mis profesores y audicionar, logré quedar seleccionado en el Conservatorio Simón Bolívar y comencé a ver clases con el profesor José “Cheo” Medina. Un año más tarde, en 2013, empecé mis estudios universitarios en la Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes de mi país, rumbo a la Licenciatura en Composición musical, título que finalmente conseguí en 2018 después de mucho sudor (ya les contaré anécdotas de todo ese proceso). Como el deseo de seguir estudiando toca mi puerta, un año después inicié mis estudios de maestría en música en la Universidad Simón Bolívar, bajo la tutela de la doctora en composición Diana Arismendi.
After having prepared properly prepared with my teachers and apply, I finally got selected in the Conservatorio Simón Bolivar and I began getting classes with professor José “Cheo” Medina. A year later, in 2013, I started university studies at the Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes (National Experimental University of Arts) towards my bachelor degree (Major in Musical Composition) which I did earn in 2018 after long efforts (I’ll tell you stories about the whole process). As the wish of keep studying knocks at my door, a year later I started my Master studies at the Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB), with Dr. Diana Arismendi as my composition teacher.
Desde 2014 comencé a presentar mi trabajo en escenarios como compositor y arreglista. Mi primer estreno fue de una composición sencilla para piano y a partir de ahí, se sumaron composiciones para pequeños ensambles de flautas, ensambles de cuerdas, ensambles mixtos, música electrónica y finalmente dos composiciones orquestales en 2018 y 2019 (además de las adaptaciones de música escrita por otros autores que me han encargado y también he tenido oportunidad de escuchar en concierto).
Since 2014 I began to present my work as a composer and arranger in stages. My very first prèmiere was a simple piece for piano and, since then, many other compositions joined the list: works for flutes ensembles, string quartets, mixed ensemble, electronic music and finally two orchestral works in 2018 and 2019 (besides the arrangements of music written by other composers, adaptations that I’ve heard in concert as well).

Lo bonito es que en estos últimos seis años he tenido oportunidad de aprender muchísimo, y es por eso que deseo re-transmitir toda esa información con la misma pasión con la que la he adquirido. Además, he tenido oportunidad de conocer gente de gente; personas difíciles y personas maravillosas, retos que superar y amistades que atesorar, como mi amistad con Kevin Rodríguez, de quien es el turno ahora de presentarse:
The nice thing is that in the past six years I’ve got the change of learning quite a lot, and that’s why I wish to relay all this information with the same passion as I have acquired it. Moreover, I’ve had the opportunity of knowing many special people, some difficult people and some wonderful ones, challenges to overcome as well as friendship to treasure, as my amity with Kevin Rodríguez, who is about of introducing himself:
Kevin Rodríguez Da Silva
Nací en Caracas en el año 1992. Inicié mis estudios en el Sistema Nacional de Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles de Venezuela como violinista y corista. Para el año 2009 ingresé a la Universidad Simón Bolívar en la carrera de Ingeniería de Producción, teniendo la oportunidad de participar en las filas de La Orquesta de Cámara USB bajo la batuta de Pablo Morales Daal. Allí tuve mis primeras participaciones como solista e introducirse a la Dirección Orquestal en la cátedra independiente del Maestro Morales. Para el año 2012 asumí mi espíritu artístico y me dediqué a mis estudios formales en el área de la dirección orquestal.
I was born in Caracas in 1992. I started my studies in El Sistema Nacional de Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles de Venezuela (National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Venezuela) as a violinist and singer. For the year 2009 I entered the Universidad Simón Bolívar in the Production Engineering career, having the opportunity to participate in the ranks of Orquesta de Cámara USB (OUSB) under the leadership of Pablo Morales Daal. There I had my first participations as a soloist, meanwhile I could enter the Orchestral Direction in the independent chair of Maestro Morales. For 2012 I assumed my artistic spirit and dedicated myself to my formal studies in the area of orchestral conducting.
Trabajé como instructor de violín, y posteriormente preparador orquestal, en distintos núcleos de Fundamusical Simón Bolívar. Para el año 2013 ingresé al Programa de Formación de Jóvenes Directores bajo la tutela del Maestro Gregory Carreño y la preparación en diversas áreas auditivas y teóricas con la Profesora Franca Verhagen, Tupac Amarú, Juan Carlos Núñez y Violeta Lárez. En el 2014 fui admitido en la Universidad Nacional Experimental de Las Artes (UNEARTE), para cursar la carrera de Licenciatura en Música Mención Dirección Orquestal con los Maestros Rodolfo Saglimbeni y, principalmente, Carlos Sala Ballester.
I worked as a violin instructor, and later an orchestral trainer, in different centers of Fundamusical Simón Bolívar. For the year 2013 I entered the Young Directors Training Program under the tutelage of Master Gregory Carreño and the preparation in various auditory and theoretical areas with Professor Franca Verhagen, Tupac Amarú, Juan Carlos Núñez and Violeta Lárez. In 2014 I was admitted to the Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes (UNEARTE), to pursue a Bachelor of Music in Mention in Orchestral Conducting with the Masters Rodolfo Saglimbeni and, mainly, Carlos Sala Ballester.
Participé en la cátedra de dirección del Convenio del Conservatorio Simón Bolívar a cargo del Maestro Alfredo Rugeles, donde tuve la oportunidad de realizar trabajo de campo con la Orquesta Juvenil del Conservatorio Simón Bolívar. De igual forma fuí invitado a trabajar como maestro interno en la Ópera "La Traviata" en el año 2015 dirigida musicalmente por el Maestro Rodolfo Saglimbeni y escénicamente por la Maestra Isabel Palacios. En el año 2016 participé en el concurso de Director de la Banda Marcial Caracas, quedando preseleccionado entre los 6 finalista y teniendo la oportunidad de dirigir esta agrupación con el montaje de repertorio latinoamericano y universal para bandas. En el 2018 fui asignado como Director Musical de la Orquesta Sinfónica Regional Ezequiel Zamora, donde realicé diversos proyectos entre los que estuvo el estreno de la versión orquestal de la ópera Fausto de Diana Daniele, en la Asociación Cultural Humboldt.
I participated in the Conservatorio Simón Bolívar conducting workshop by Maestro Alfredo Rugeles, where I had the opportunity to carry out fieldwork with the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil del Conservatorio Simón Bolívar. Similarly, I was invited to work as an internal teacher at the Opera "La Traviata" in 2015, directed by Maestro Rodolfo Saglimbeni (music direction) and by Maestra Isabel Palacios (stage). In 2016 I participated in the Director of Banda Marcial Caracas contest, being shortlisted among the 6 finalists and having the opportunity to lead this group with the assembly of Latin American and universal repertoire for bands. In 2018 I was assigned as Musical Director of the Orquesta Sinfónica Regional Ezequiel Zamora, where I carried out various projects including the prèmiere of the orchestral version of the opera Fausto by Diana Daniele, at the Asociación Cultural Humboldt.
Actualmente soy Director Artístico de la Orquesta de la Universidad Simón Bolívar y curso estudios de maestría en esta misma institución, bajo la tutela del maestro Alfredo Rugeles.
Currently, I am the Artistic Director of the Orquesta de la Universidad Simón Bolívar and I am studying Master's degrees at the same institution, under the tutelage of Maestro Alfredo Rugeles.
